Özet
Araştırma, ilköğretim birinci sınıfına devam eden öğrencilerin görsel algı düzeylerini incelemeyi hedeflemiştir. Bu bağlamda, deney ve kontrol grupları oluşturulup görsel algı eğitiminin görsel-motor becerisine olan etkisinin belirlenmesi ve cinsiyet, yaş, anne-baba eğitim durumu, okul öncesi eğitimine devam edip etmeme ve ekonomik gelir düzeyi gibi değişkenlerin farklılık yaratıp yaratmadığını değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modeline uygun tasarlanan araştırma örneklemi ise; 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Bursa Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı Dr. Ayten Bozkaya İlköğretim okulu bünyesinde ilköğretim birinci sınıfına devam eden 5-7 yaş arasındaki çocuklardan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan deney ve kontrol gruplarına ön test uygulanarak elde edilen sonuçların ardından deney grubunun görsel sanatlar dersinde haftada bir gün Frostig Gelişimsel Görsel Algı Eğitimi verilirken, kontrol grubuna herhangi bir eğitim verilmemiştir. Deney grubunun eğitimi sonuçlandıktan bir hafta sonra her iki gruba da son test uygulaması yapılmıştır. Araştırma çocukların eğitim öncesi ve sonrasındaki görsel algı becerilerini ölçmeyi ve görsel algının geliştirilebilirliğini incelemeyi, analiz etmeyi ve değerlendirmeyi amaçlamıştır. Veri toplama sürecinde elde edilen sonuçlara göre; ilköğretim birinci sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşturulan deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulanan görsel algı ön test sonuçları karşılaştırıldığında deneysel işlemler öncesinde birbirlerine denk oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Deney grubuna verilen görsel algı eğitimi öncesi ve sonrası elde edilen ön test ve son test sonuçları arasında istatistiksel açıdan olumlu anlamda farklılık olduğu belirlenmiştir. Demografik değişkenler değerlendirildiğinde ise öğrencilerin genel görsel algı düzeyleri ile cinsiyeti arasında anlamlı bir sonuca rastlanmamıştır. Araştırma sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde ilköğretim birinci sınıfına devam eden çocukların üzerinde Frostig Gelişimsel Görsel Algı Eğitim Programının etkisinin olumlu yönde olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The research aimed to examine the visual perception levels of students attending the first grade of primary education. In this context, it was aimed to determine the effect of visual perception training on visual-motor skills within the scope. The study was designed as experimental research and effects of Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Education Program was evaluated within demographic variables such as gender, age, parental education level, previous preschool attainment and family income level. The sample group consisted of children between the ages of 5-7 and First Graders at a public primary school, —Dr Ayten Bozkaya Primary School— affiliated to the Ministry of National Education of Bursa. The study was designed based on screening-model sampling; in the 2017-2018 academic year. Once the results obtained through application of the pre-test to the experimental and control groups participating in the study, Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Training was given once a week within the visual arts classes of the experimental group; while no training was given to the control group. Following one week of the training of the experimental group; a post-test was applied to both groups. The research aimed to measure the visual perception skills of children before and after training, and examine, analyze and evaluate the developmental capacity and scope of visual perception. At the beginning, when the visual perception pre-tests applied to the experimental and control groups were compared, it was observed that there were no significant difference between the groups. However, upon the administration and training through utilization of Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Education Program, post-test results showed a significant difference between cohorts. When the results were compared based on demographic variables, no significant difference was found between the general visual perception levels of the students and their gender. In this study it was conclusively supported by the findings that Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Education Program contributed to the children's visual perceptive abilities positively.
