The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of education on income distribution in Turkey. There are significant problems in income distribution in developing countries such as Turkey, and governments use various policies to combat this problem. The most commonly used of these policies are education policies. The reason for this situation is that through education, it is believed that individuals can move from the income groups they are currently into the upper-income groups in the future by increasing their knowledge and abilities. In the study, the relationship between education and income distribution is analyzed using two-stage Heckman and Quantile regression methods using 2017 data from the household workforce survey conducted and published by TURKSTAT. According to the results of the analysis, it was concluded that the increasing effect of education on wages in Turkey is higher for men in lower-income groups and for women in upper-income groups. In addition, in the light of the results of the analysis, important recommendations are made to policymakers in order to make the distribution of income in Turkey more easing.
