Özet

Bireylerin besin seçiminde ve yeme farkındalıklarında birçok sosyal ve çevresel faktör rol oynamaktadır. Sosyoekonomik statünün bireylerin besin seçimlerine ve diyet kalitelerini etkileyebileceği vurgulanmaktadır. Mevcut çalışma, sosyoekonomik statü ile yeme farkındalığı ve besin seçimi arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmek amacıyla İstanbul'da yaşayan 18-65 yaş aralığındaki 319 gönüllü birey (163'ü erkek, 156'sı kadın) ile yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların yeme farkındalıkları yeme farkındalığı ölçeği (YFÖ) ve besin seçim motivasyonları ise besin seçim testi (BST) ile değerlendirilmiştir. Lise ve altı eğitim düzeyine sahip bireylerin YFÖ puan ortalaması 98,4±15,4 iken lisans ve üzerinde eğitim seviyesine sahip bireylerin puan ortalaması 104,8±14,8 olarak saptanmıştır (p=0,000). Çok düşük gelir durumuna sahip bireylerin YFÖ puan ortalamaları diğer gelir gruplarına kıyasla anlamlı düşük bulunmuştur (p=0,001). Eğitim seviyelerine göre incelendiğinde ise lise ve altında eğitim düzeyine sahip bireylerde düşünmeden yeme, duygusal yeme, yeme kontrolü, yeme disiplini ve bilinçli beslenme YFÖ alt boyut puanları lisans ve üzerinde eğitim almış olan bireylere kıyasla anlamlı düşük bulunmuştur (p

Many social and environmental factors play a role in individuals food selection and eating awareness. It is emphasized that socioeconomic status can affect individuals' food choices and diet qualities. The present study was conducted with 319 volunteers (163 males, 156 females) between the ages of 18-65 living in Istanbul in order to evaluate the relationship between socioeconomic status and food awareness and food selection.Participants eating behaviors were evaluated by“Mindful Eating Questionnaire(MEQ)'' and food choice attitude ”Food Choice Questionnaire (FCQ)".The average score of individuals with high school and below education level was 98.4 ± 15.4, the average score of individuals with undergraduate and above education level was found to be 104.8 ± 14.8 (p = 0.000). Individuals with a very low income status were found to have significantly lower FCQ scores compared to other income groups (p = 0.001). When examined according to education level, the scores of FCQ sub-dimensions of eating without thinking, emotional eating, eating control, eating discipline and conscious nutrition were found to be significantly lower in individuals with high school and below education compared to individuals with undergraduate and above education (p
