Özet

I nostri sensi e le nostre emozioni sono alcuni degli aspetti che giocano un ruolo fondamentale nella percezione degli ambienti. Il processo percettivo, influenzato dalle emozioni, si concretizza portando l'individuo a compiere determinate azioni, delineando così uno specifico comportamento. Quest' ultimo è dettato dalla ricezione di uno stimolo attraverso i sensi, che per mezzo del processo percettivo viene convertito in azione. Alla luce di questo sorge naturale dedurre che i sensi sono all'origine dei comportamenti umani, il che rende ancor più importante la necessità di tenere in considerazione l'aspetto sensitivo nel design. In questo modo, infatti, gli spazi possono essere in grado di evocare emozioni negli individui attraverso il loro design e i loro fattori ambientali. La capacità di influenzare gli atteggiamenti delle persone potrebbe quindi contribuire ad un cambiamento sociale. Oramai le società contemporanee, a causa degli sviluppi tecnologici e sociopolitici, si trovano ad essere protagoniste di cambiamenti comportamentali negli individui, che diventano sempre più distaccati, isolati e con deboli legami relazionali con le altre persone. Andando a contestualizzare questi cambiamenti comportamentali nel quadro sociale, questa tesi esamina gli effetti dello sperimentare emozioni suscitate da uno spazio. L'architettura sensoriale potrebbe rappresentare un'importante passo in avanti verso nuove società e al fine di sostenere quest'area di ricerca sono state proposte nella trattazione due installazioni, che includono l'aspetto sensoriale, in due differenti parti del mondo. Özet (Çeviri)

Among the most important parts of the environmental perception are our senses and emotions. The perceptual process that is affected by emotions create movement. Behavior starts with the reception of stimulus by the senses and after the perceptual process, it ends up with the transformation of the received data into action. Thus, senses constitute the origin of human behavior. This makes the integration of the senses into design more important. Spaces might evoke emotions by their design, ambient and environmental factors. Being able to influence the behavior of people could bring social change in society. Today, contemporary societies face some behavioral changes due to technological and socio-political developments. People have become more isolated, detached and isolated with weaker emotional bonding with each other. By integrating these current behavioral changes in society as a concept, this thesis examines the outcomes of experiencing an emotion evoking space. Sensual architecture could be a step towards new societies. In order to support this research area, two installation designs that include a sensual aspect has been proposed in two different locations of the world.
