This essay will discuss the theoretical and contextual analysis of my Masters Project, the screenplay We Lost the Battle We Lost the War. It will stress on the process and shed a light on the product that has been made. The analysis will explore the theme of the screenplay, the chosen genre, the style and the tone of the storyworld. It will review the research I made and the inspiration I got from the reference movies I watched. Additionally it will issue on the idea generating process and the character developments. Consequently an examination will be made on the last draft, about my strengths and weaknesses as a writer, which platforms the screenplay belongs to and the next stages of my career path. The essay will do this analysis by building upon the creative journey I had through the Masters, the academic contributions I had and the industry knowledge gained during that time period. We Lost the Battle We Lost the War is a psychological thriller which emphasizes on the notion of“war”and a metaphor of how the little things in life cause irreversible outcomes. The screenplay does not involve the actual war but it tells the war over the characters – the humans. A very important social message is aimed to be given and a reflection of the human kind's behavior should be examined in the movie.
