This paper aims at analyzing the role and response of governments in the Syrian conflict which is the biggest humanitarian and refugee crisis of our time. The main purpose of this analysis is to understand how governments might mitigate the negative impacts of the crisis through possible public and social policy implementations. The paper is divided into four main parts. The first chapter presents the background of the crisis within political and social context, while the second chapter examines the striking effects of the crisis to the world with actual figures, which reflects the rationale of government involvement. The third chapter focuses on the existing practices done by governments, which are considered insufficient to alleviate the negative effects of the crisis, therefore requires further emphasize on successful implementations and studies the necessity for a collaboration with Private Sectors and International Organizations to try to create a path to better practices. Finally, the fourth chapter concludes with the policy suggestions for the resolution of the crisis.
