Due to increasing integration of economies with each other, pursuance of economic stability has become more challenging for central banks. In such an environment, having monetary policies that are effective on fluctuations in output and inflation has come into prominence as well. Therefore, in this dissertation, the main purpose is to analyse the impact of monetary policy instruments on output growth and inflation rate of a country. So as to reach this aim, by using vector autoregressive models, Granger causality tests on macroeconomic fundamentals are performed. As reference points for empirical examination, the Eurozone, Turkey, and their monetary policy authorities, the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, are taken into account. Based on the evidence obtained by Granger causality analyses, the effectiveness of monetary policy on output growth and inflation is supported for the economies in question.
