Özet
İşbu araştırma dilsel dünya görüşünde İngilizce ve Kırgızca'daki“anne”kavramını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, anne kavramının iki farklı kültürde atasözleri, kelime kombinasyonları ve edebi eserler aracılığıyla ifade edilmesini içerir. Tezin asıl amacı“anne”kavramının dilsel dünya görüşünde ingilizce ve kırgızca'daki benzerlik ve farklılıkların açıklamaktır. Çalışmada kullanılan araştırma yöntemleri: analiz, sentez, gözlem, istatistiksel analiz, yorumlama ve ilişkisel deney. Bu araştırma, farklı görevleri ve alanları açıklayan üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, kavramın tanımını vererek sosyal alanlardaki bilimlere bakacağız. Ayrıca, kavram dilin dünya görüşünün bir parçası olarak incelenecektir. İkinci bölümde, annelik kavramının çeşitli yönleri ingilizce ve kırgızca'daki atasözleri doğrultusundaki açıklamaları anlatılmaktadır. İngiliz ve Kırgız dünya görüşlerindeki“anne”kavramı arasındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkları karşılaştırmak için atasözleri incelenir. Atasözleri ve deyimleri iki dilde dört anlamsal gruba ayırdık. Bunlar; anne-çocuk ilişkileri; baba bahçıvandır - anne çiçektir; annelik felsefesi; annelik ve ev ile ilgili atasözleri. Her iki dilde de atasözleri anne kavramının evrensel ve kendine özgü özelliklerini göstermiştir. Ayrıca bölüm, ingilizce ve kırgızca'da“anne”kavramının kolokyumlarına odaklanmaktadır. Bu dillerde anne kavramının hem olumlu hem de olumsuz eşdizimleri vardır. Son bölüm, anne kavramını sosyolojik alanda inceler. Araştırmanın bu bölümünde anne kavramı bir ilişkisel deney temelinde incelenmektedir. İlişkisel deney iki dilde gerçekleştirildi ve denemenin sonuçları yüzdelik göstergelere sahip bir grafik olarak sunuldu. Anket sonuçlarına göre, annenin her iki kültürde de ailenin koruyucusu olduğu sonucuna vardık. The thesis is devoted to the study of a topical theme – the representation of the concept of mother in the English and Kyrgyz linguistic picture of the world. This work is the study of the reflection of the mother in two distinct cultures through proverbs, sayings, collocations, and literary works belonging to them. The thesis aims at revealing the similarities and differences of the concept of the mother in English and Kyrgyz language world views. Research methods used in the work: analysis, synthesis, observation, statistical analysis, interpretation, and the associative experiment. This thesis consists of three chapters, which are dealing with different tasks and aspects. The first chapter is the theoretical background of the paper. We looked through the concept in social sciences, defining the linguistic term 'concept'. Additionally, we have studied the concept as a part of the linguistic picture of the world. The second chapter deals with various aspects of the concept of the mother and its representation based on English and Kyrgyz proverbs and sayings. We have compared proverbs and sayings in two languages to find out the similarities and differences between the concept of mother in English and Kyrgyz's linguistic picture of the world. We divided the proverbs and sayings into four semantic groups in two languages. They are as follows: mother-child relations; a father is a gardener-a mother is a flower; motherhood philosophy; proverbs about motherhood and household. Consequently, the proverbs and sayings in both languages showed universal and specific features of the concept of mother. Furthermore, this chapter concentrates on collocations of the concept of mother in English and Kyrgyz languages. In those languages, the concept of mother has both positive and negative collocations.The last chapter studies the concept of a mother from a sociological point of view. In this part of the research, the concept of the mother is explored based on the associative experiment. According to the results of the survey, we concluded that the mother is a family keeper in both cultures. Moreover, we have analyzed the concept of a mother based on Chingiz Aitmatov's“Mother's field”and Grace Paley's“Mother”. We obtained a larger and cultural understanding of the concept of the mother from a literary standpoint, that the mother is depicted as strong, warm, and kind towards her children.
