Özet
Bu çalışmada, ortaöğretime birlikte eğitim ortamlarında devam eden görme yetersizliğinden etkilenmiş öğrencilerin tamamlayıcı becerileri gerçekleştirme düzeyleri ve tercihlerine ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma grubunu Ankara İli sınırları içinde yer alan 2011/2012 yılında ortaöğretim kurumlarında eğitim öğretime devam eden 9, 10, 11, 12. sınıf görme yetersizliğinden etkilenmiş 26 ortaöğretim öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Bu öğrencilerin 14' ü kör 12' si az görendir ve ek bir engele sahip değildir. Öğrencilerin akademik derslerde tamamlayıcı becerileri gerçekleştirme düzeylerini belirlemek için araştırmacı tarafından var olan durumu betimlemek amacıyla geliştirilen, dört bölümden oluşmuş anket görme yetersizliğinden etkilenmiş öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Öğrenciler tarafından doldurulan anketten elde edilen veriler yüzde ve frekans yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Bulguları, görme yetersizliğinden etkilenmiş öğrencilerinin akademik derslerde tamamlayıcı becerileri kullanmadığını göstermiştir. Bulgular tartışılmış ve ileriki araştırmalara yönelik, ortaöğretim kademesinde sınıfında görme yetersizliğinden etkilenmiş öğrenci bulunan öğretmenlere yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The purpose of this study is to present the views of the students with visual impairment who attend the educational settings inclusively at secondary school about the preferences and the level of complementary skills. The study group consisted of 26 students with visual impairments, attending the grades of 9, 10, 11, and 12 in secondary education institutions during the academic year of 2011–2012 in the province of Ankara. Fourteen of these students were blind, and twelve of them had low vision. None of the students had any other additional disability. In order to identify the levels of use of supplementary skills of the students in academic classes, a questionnaire consisting of four parts, developed by the researcher to describe the current situation, was conducted with the students with visual impairments. Data collected from the questionnaire completed by the students with visual impairments were analyzed in frequencies and percentages. The findings of this study indicated that most of the students attending secondary education institutions were not using supplementary skills in academic classes. The findings were discussed, and for the future studies, suggestions were provided for the teachers having students with visual impairments in their classes in secondary education levels.
