Özet

Amaç: Bu araştırmada eş seçiminde şema kimyasının etkili olup olmadığının ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla çiftlerin erken dönem uyum bozucu şemaları arasında oluşan şema kimyaları nitel çalışma ile belirlendikten sonra, bu çalışmanın sonuçlarından yararlanılarak şema kimyasını tespit etmeye yönelik bir ölçek geliştirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırma karma yöntemler araştırması desenlerinden keşfedici sıralı desen (NİTEL+NİCEL) yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Nitel aşama için evli olan 105 kişiye Young Şema Ölçeği Kısa Form-3 uygulanmış ve ölçek sonuçlarına göre amaçlı örnekleme yoluyla belirlenen 25 evli katılımcıyla nitel görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Nitel verilerin analizleri tematik analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda Şema Kimyası Ölçeğinin madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Nicel aşamada Şema Kimyası Ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi için kolayda örnekleme yoluyla belirlenen 432 katılımcıyla ölçek geliştirme çalışması yürütülmüştür. Katılımcılardan elde edilen verilerin çok değişkenli normalliği sağlamadığı göz önüne alınarak analiz sürecinde açımlayıcı faktör analizi yöntemlerinden principle axis factoring yöntemi tercih edilmiş ve analizler paralel analizle yürütülmüştür. Bulgular: Nitel aşamada elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda şema kimyasına ilişkin 6 model ortaya koyulmuştur. Birinci model ilişkide yakınlık, ikinci model ilişkide özveri, üçüncü model güç mücadelesi, dördüncü model duygusal destek, beşinci model kabul ve onay, altıncı model yetkinlik olarak isimlendirilmiştir. İlişkide yakınlık üst teması yalnızlık korkusu, ilişkide güven ve ilişkide izolasyon temalarından; ilişkide özveri üst teması kendinden verme ve fedakâr eş arayışı temalarından; duygusal destek üst teması duygu talebi ve duygu tasarrufu temalarından; kabul ve onay üst teması durgunluğa tahammülsüzlük ve yetersizlik temalarından; yetkinlik üst teması başarısızlığa tahammülsüzlük ve kurtarıcı aramak temalarından oluşmaktadır. Güç mücadelesi temasının altında alt tema bulunmamaktadır. Bu boyutlara göre yürütülen açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonuçlarına göre Şema Kimyası Ölçeği, madde faktör yüklerinin kesme noktası .50 olarak alındığında, 6 boyut ve 32 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin açıkladığı toplam varyans %53,74 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Şema Kimyası Ölçeğinin ölçüt bağıntılı geçerliği Kurt (2018) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan Evlilik Kalitesi Ölçeğiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. İki ölçeğin toplam puanları arasında -.654 düzeyinde negatif bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğin toplam puanı için Cronbach Alfa İç Tutarlılık Katsayısı ve McDonald Omega katsayısı .93 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç ve Öneriler: Bu çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular eşlerin uyum bozucu şemaları arasındaki etkileşim sonucu ortaya çıkan şema kimyasının eş seçiminde etkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca şema kimyasına yönelik geliştirilen bir ölçekle çiftlerin şema kimyalarını kestirmenim mümkün olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Şema kimyasına ilişkin elde edilen modellerin ve Şema Kimyası Ölçeğinin çift terapisi alanındaki çalışmalarda kullanılabileceği değerlendirilmektedir.

Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to determine whether schema chemistry is effective in the mate selection process. For this purpose, the schema chemistry that emerged with the interaction of the early maladaptive schemas of the couples was determined by a qualitative study, and then it was aimed to develop a scale to determine the schema chemistry by using the findings obtained from the qualitative study. Method: The research was carried out with the exploratory sequential design (Qualitative+Quantitative) method, which is one of the mixed methods research designs. For the qualitative stage, Young Schema Scale Short Form-3 was applied to 105 married people. According to the results obtained from this scale, 25 married participants were determined by using purposive sampling method and qualitative interviews were conducted with these participants. The analyzes of qualitative data were analyzed by thematic analysis method. In line with the data obtained as a result of the analysis, the item pool of the Schema Chemistry Scale was created. In order to develop the Schema Chemistry Scale at the quantitative stage, a scale development study was carried out with 432 participants who were determined by convenience sampling. Considering that the data obtained from the participants did not provide multivariate normality, principle axis factoring method was preferred among the exploratory factor analysis methods in the analysis process and the analyzes were carried out with parallel analysis. Results: As a result of the analysis of the data obtained at the qualitative stage, 6 models of schema chemistry were revealed. The first model is closeness in the relationship, the second model is dedication in the relationship, the third model is power struggle, the fourth model is emotional support, the fifth model is acceptance and approval, and the sixth model is competence. The upper theme of closeness in the relationship consists of the themes of fear of loneliness, trust in the relationship, and isolation in the relationship. The upper theme of dedication in the relationship consists of the themes of self-giving and the search for a self-sacrificing spouse. Emotional support upper theme consists of emotion demand and emotion saving themes. The upper theme of acceptance and approval consists of the themes of intolerance to stagnation and inadequacy. The upper theme of competence consists of the themes of intolerance to failure and seeking saviour. There is no sub-theme under the power struggle theme. According to these dimensions, exploratory factor analysis was performed. According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the Schema Chemistry Scale consists of 6 dimensions and 32 items when the cut-off point of item factor loads is (.50). The total variance explained by the scale was calculated as 53.74%. The criterion-related validity of the Schema Chemistry Scale was carried out with the Marriage Quality Scale, which was adapted into Turkish by Kurt (2018). It was observed that there was a negative correlation at the level of -.654 between the total scores of the two scales. The Cronbach's Alpha Internal Consistency Coefficient and McDonald's Omega coefficient for the total score of the scale were found to be (.93). Conclusion and Suggestions: Findings from this study showed that schema chemistry, which emerged as a result of the interaction between spouses' early maladaptive schemas, is effective in mate selection. In addition, it was concluded that it is possible to predict the schema chemistry of the couples with a scale developed for schema chemistry. It is evaluated that the models obtained regarding schema chemistry and the Schema Chemistry Scale can be used in studies in the field of couple therapy.
