This study deals with the term of evidence in qur'anic metaphors, and discusses its types, its function, and its importance by emphasizing why the scholars laid indication down as a condition in attribution of the metaphor. In addition to that, the research sets light on efforts of al-Alûsî in his tafsir (Rûh al-Ma'ânî) in determination of evidence. Because determination of evidence is controversial topic between the scholars, there is necessity to research on standards which regulate it based on the Islamic Sciences. And the main aim of this thesis is establishing regulations and standards for determination of evidence via al-Alûsî's tafsir. On the other hand, this study explores impact of determination of evidence on alAlûsî's preferences between various ideas on Qur'anic exegesis with the examples from his exegesis. To achieve the aim of the study, inductive method and analytical method were used, by using these methods the researchers kept looking at al-Alûsî's tafsir and analyzed his preferences, proofs, and sources. At the conclusion of this study, the researcher came out with several results, including that evidence of Qur'anic metaphors is the distinguishing point between the acceptable interpretation and the rejected one. And there is strong relationship between determination of evidence and ilm'u-Tafsir. So this study could be considered as part of Qawâ'id-u Tafsir. And evidence of Qur'anic metaphors which al- 215 Alûsî determined varies, there are several types of it: verbal and nonverbal, adjacent and separated, rational and adverbial. And setting rules for determination of evidence can be possible with benefiting from linguistic data, context, narrations, and mental necessities
