Among the participants, the rate of those with limited health literacy level was 22.2%, the rate of those who were competent was 68%, and the rate of those who were excellent was determined as 9.9%. Being educated about the disease and knowing the ways of transmission of the COVID-19 virus have been shown as factors affecting the level of health literacy. The average of the scores obtained from the total of the COVID-19 Awareness Scale was found to be 75.11 ± 4.935. significant compared to the patients who do not know the transmission routes of the COVID-19 virus. was found to be higher. It has been observed that the only factor affecting the awareness of COVID-19 is educational status. There was no statistically significant relationship between the mean scores of the patients from the ASOY Scale and the COVID-19 Awareness Scale. Conclusion: In our study, the health literacy level of the patients was found to be sufficient. It was observed that most of the sociodemographic and disease-related characteristics did not affect health literacy. It has been determined that health literacy in hematological oncology patients is higher in those who receive education about the disease in the sub-dimensions of health promotion and access to health information compared to those who do not receive education. In line with the average score of the COVID-19 Awareness Scale, it was determined that the level of awareness was sufficient with a value close to the highest score that could be obtained. It has been observed that the awareness levels of literate patients regarding the prevention of contamination and hygiene measures are higher than those of secondary and high school graduates. It was concluded that the health literacy of the patients did not affect the awareness of COVID-19.
