Özet
Bu araştırmada, 17.yüzyıldan günümüze, sosyal ve siyasal üstünlüğü elinde bulunduranların beğenisine karşılık gelen bir resim türü olarak belirginleşmiş 'Grup Portre Geleneği'nin 20.yüzyıl ikinci yarısından itibaren popüler kültürün araçsallaştırdığı sanatsal bir form haline gelişinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Betisel yöntemler kullanılarak geliştirilmiş olan kuramsal çalışmada grup portre geleneğinin sosyo-kültürel açıdan işlevsel bir form olduğu ve sanatçı açısından bir ifade aracı olduğu varsayımından hareket edilmiştir. Grup portre resimlerinin gündelik yaşama yön veren dinamikleri yansıttığı ve gelecek kuşaklar için bir yankılama olduğunun ispatı yoluna gidilmiştir. Tarihsel öneme sahip örnekler ve kültürel veriler karşılaştırmalı olarak irdelenmiş, popüler olan ile sanatsal olan arasındaki farkın önemi ortaya koyulmuştur. Batı resim sanatına özgü grup portre geleneği, 20.yüzyıl ikinci yarısından itibaren 'sanatsal tarz ve tavır', 'kültürel kimlik', ve 'ekonomi-politik eleştiri' bağlamında 'ironik', 'hermenitik', 'nostaljik' ve 'şizofrenik' bir niteliğe bürünmüştür. Sanatçı kimliği, dönemin sanat anlayışı ve kültürel olgular etkisinde biçimlenip çeşitlenen grup portre çalışmaları burjuvanın estetik beğenisinin etkisinde bir gelenek olarak varlığını sürdürmüştür. Çağdaş sanatta insan yüzünün sıklıkla kullanılmasının, toplumunun bir bireyi olan sanatçının toplumsal rolünü gerçekleştirmesine ve istediği sanatsal ifadeyi iletmesine elverişli olduğu için önemini kaybetmeyeceğine dair kanıtlar elde edilmiştir.

In this research, it is aimed to examine the transformation of the 'Group Portrait Tradition', which has become evident as a painting genre that corresponds to the taste of those who hold the social and political superiority from the 17th century to the present, as an artistic form instrumentalized by popular culture since the second half of the 20th century. In the theoretical study, which was developed using descriptive methods, it was assumed that the group portrait tradition is a functional form in socio-cultural terms and an expression tool for the artist. It has been tried to prove that group portrait paintings reflect the dynamics that shape daily life and are a resonance for future generations. Examples of historical importance and cultural data were examined comparatively, and the importance of the difference between the popular and the artistic was revealed The group portrait tradition peculiar to Western painting art has been transformed into an 'ironic', 'hermenitic', 'nostalgic' and 'schizophrenic' tradition in the context of 'artistic style and attitude', 'cultural identity' and 'economic-political criticism' since the second half of the 20th century. has taken on character. Group portrait works, which were shaped and diversified under the influence of artistic identity, artistic understanding of the period and cultural phenomena, continued to exist as a tradition under the influence of the aesthetic taste of the bourgeoisie. Evidence has been obtained that the frequent use of the human face in contemporary art will not lose its importance as it is convenient for the artist, who is a member of her/his society, to fulfill her social role and convey the artistic expression she/he desires.
