Özet
Logistics is a substantial part of the supply chain. Firms either could perform in-house logistics operations or outsource these logistics operations outside of their body. This study addresses the context of outsourced logistics services along with the 3PL and the 4PL activities with the supply chain. Based on the literature review of these contexts, it will be outlined the theoretical framework of logistics outsourcing, origin, types, and actors of outsourced logistics activities, different levels of logistics outsourcing (from 1PL to 5PL), and sustainable logistics outsourcing. This theoretical framework aimed to be promoted with face-to-face online interviews (due to the covid-19 pandemics) with specialists of both logistics service users and providers. As the research aim is to obtain the context of the 4PL service and its outsourcing together with an evaluation of logistics outsourcing and activities of the 3PL and 4PL. As a research method interview has been chosen because it gives deep information about the aim of the research with both the experience and competence of experts in logistics service users and providers in the field. When analyzing these interviews, open, axial, and selective coding techniques have been utilized and this facilitated observation of research findings in the context of logistics outsourcing along with the themes, categories, sub, and major theories that codebooks show. Research findings revealed that most theoretical frameworks correspond with practical frameworks except that the degree of the 4PL performed differently in practice than in theory. As a background of this performing, some reasons found out. Along with these findings, some useful research results will be presented to the target audience who will examine this study and will enlighten about the evaluation of logistics outsourcing. And finally, in light of the research results, the suggestions and recommendations observed by the author will be obtained.
