Özet
Araştırmaya konu olan Saros Körfezi tarihi, doğası, kültürel ve sosyal yapısı gereği oldukça zengin bir destinasyondur. Ayrıca kendine has özellikleri barındıran Saros Körfezi dünya üzerinde nadir bulunan körfezlerden biri unvanına sahiptir. Bu unvanı kazanmasını sağlayan özelliği, oluşan akıntılar sayesinde kendi kendini temizliyor olmasıdır. Körfezin bulunduğu bölgenin büyük şehirlere yakın olması sayesinde tanınırlığını arttırmakta ve ziyaretçi çekimi bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Bölgenin büyük bir bölümünün diğer turizm alanlarına göre daha sakin ve bakir olması, yaz sezonunun bölgede daha kısa sürüyor olmasıyla alakalıdır. Çalışmanın içeriğinde yazın taraması bölümünde sürdürülebilirlik kavramı ve turizm ile ilişkisi ele alınmış, sürdürülebilirliğin turizm ile birleşiminden doğan ve turizmi alternatiflere yönelten başlıca türlerden bahsedilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırma bölgesi olarak seçilen Saros Körfezi hakkında bilgiler verilerek, kıyı yerleşimleri ele alınmıştır. Bölgenin turizm potansiyelinin incelenmesi amacıyla Saros Körfezi kıyı yerleşimlerinde paydaşlarla görüşmeler yapılması planlanmış ve bölge hakkındaki düşünceleri baz alınarak, destinasyonun sürdürülebilir turizm bağlamında değerlendirilmesi uygun görülmüştür. Bu süreçte araştırma bölgesinin ziyaret edilmesi planlanmış ve alan hakkındaki eksik bilgilerin giderilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bölgedeki turizm potansiyelinin incelenmesi için yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler ile içerik analizi gerçekleştirilmiş ve elde edilen sonuçlar ile bölge için SWOT analizi uygulanmıştır. Tüm bu bulgular ışığında bölgenin sahip olduğu çekicilikler ve turizm sezonu hakkında yorumlarda bulunulmuştur. Saros Körfezi ve kıyılarının turizm potansiyelinin sürdürülebilir turizm yaklaşımı benimsenerek değerlendirilmesi yapılarak, destinasyonun devamlılığı açısından önem taşıdığı vurgulanmıştır. Ayrıca bölge potansiyelinin sürdürülebilir turizm kapsamında arttırılması için yapılması gerekenler hakkında önerilere yer verilmiştir.

The Gulf of Saros which is subject of the research has a wealthy destination due to its history, nature, cultural and social structure. In addition to these unique qualities, this gulf has the title of one of the rarest gulfs in the world, and the feature that makes it gain this title is that it cleans itself thanks to the currents. Also, the gulf's location increases its recognition thanks to its proximity to major cities. That's why it is an essential manner to attract visitors. On the other hand, the fact that a large part of the region is quieter and more untouched than other tourism areas is related to the shorter summer season in the region.In the content of the study, the concept of sustainability and its relationship with tourism were discussed according to the literature review section. Besides, the main types that emerged from the combination of sustainability with tourism and led tourism to alternatives were mentioned. Plus, the Gulf of Saros, which is becoming a chosen research area, and the information given about it and its coastal settlements were defined in the content. Subsequently, in order to examine the region's tourism potential, it was planned to schedule interviews with individuals in the case of sustainable tourism. In this process, it was planned to visit the research area and eliminate the missing information about the place. It was planned to carry out content analysis with the data obtained as a result of the interviews to examine the tourism potential in the region. With the analysis result, it was decied to apply SWOT analysis to the area and make comment abouth the attractiveness of the region and it season. It was emphasized that the tourism potential of the Gulf of Saros and coasts was essential for the continuity of the destination by adopting a sustainable tourism approach. In addition, suggestion were given on what should be done to increase the region's potential within the scope of sustainable tourism.
