Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmada hastanelerin cerrahi birimlerde çalışan hemşirelerin D tipi kişilik yapısı ile merhamet yorgunluğu arasındaki ilişkinin ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlamıştır. Çalışmada betimsel ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini istanbuldaki üç hastanede görev yapan tüm cerrahi hemşireler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada Evrenin tamamına ulaşılması amaçlanmış ve klinikte çalışan 316 hemşire üzerinden veri toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistiksel yöntemleri olarak sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, pearson korelasyon, T-Testi ve Anova testi kullanılmıştır.Araştırmada D tipi kişilik yapısı ile merhamet yorgunluğu arasında anlamlı ilişkilerin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Olumsuz duygulanım ve sosyal baskılanma arttıkça veya azaldıkça, ters yönlü olarak mesleki tatmin artmakta veya azalmakta olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca D tipi kişiliğe sahip olma düzeyi arttıkça veya azaldıkça tükenmişlik ve merhamet yorgunluğunun da aynı doğrultuda arttığı veya azaldığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the D-type personality structure of the nurses working in the surgical units of the hospitals and compassion fatigue,and the affecting factors. The descriptive relational survey model wasused in the study. The population of the research consists of all surgical nurses working in Çatalca State Hospital, Beylikdüzü State Hospitaland Mimar Sinan State Hospital in the European side of Istanbul. In the study, it was aimed to reach the entire universe and data were collected from 316 surgica lnurses. Number, percentage, mean, Standard deviation, pearson correlation, T-Test and Anova test were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data. Inthestudy, it was determined that there were significant relationships between D-type personality structure and compassion fatigue. It was concluded that as negative affect and social suppression increase or decrease, Professional satis faction increases or decreases in the opposite direction. In addition, it was concluded that as the level of having type D personality increased or decreased, burnout and compassion fatigue also increased or decreased in the samedirection
