Özet
Özgür istenç problemi düşünce tarihinde sürekli ele alınmış önemli problemlerden biridir. Her çağın düşünürleri, çağının paradigmalarıyla bu probleme yaklaşmış ve insanın gerçekten özgür olup olmadığını temellendirmeye çalışmıştır. Değişen, gelişen fikir dünyası ve bilimler, problemin ele alınış tarzlarının farklılaşmasında önemli rol oynamıştır. İlk olarak insanı düşünme, eyleme ve istemesinin bilincinde olan bir özne olarak, bundan dolayı da doğadaki diğer canlılardan farklı, handiyse üstün kabul edenler, insanın özgür olduğunu peşinen dile getirmişlerdir. Diğer yandan, doğaya ve insana dair artan bilgi ışığında insanı doğal bir varlık olarak, bundan dolayı da tüm edimlerinin doğadaki diğer canlıların edimleri gibi zorunlulukla gerçekleştiği iddialarında bulunmuşlardır. Tarih içerisinde probleme dair birçok görüş belirtilmiş olsa da temelde görüşler, doğadaki diğer varlıklar ile insanın özsel farklılığının olduğuna ya da doğa ve insan arasında bir süreklilik olduğu inancına dayanmaktadır. Ne var ki, Nietzsche, her iki görüşe de karşı çıkmaktadır. Nietzsche'nin bu görüşlere karşı çıkmasının temel nedeni Güç İstenci adını verdiği ilkeden kaynaklanmaktadır. Nietzsche, bu ilke uyarınca, hem insanın diğer varlıklardan özsel farkı olmadığını hem de kabul görmüş doğa anlayışlarının birer yorum olduğunu iddia etmektedir. Dolayısıyla, Nietzsche kendi özgürlük anlayışını eleştirdiği görüşler ve onların öncüllerinden farklı olarak temellendirmektedir.

The problem of free will is one of the important problems that is constantly addressed on the thought. The thoughts of every age approached this problem with the paradigms of their age and tried to ground the human being whether he was truly free or not. The ever-changing world of ideas and sciences played an important role in the differentiation of the way the problem was handled. First of all, those who consider man as a subject who is conscious of thinking, acting and wanting, and therefore different from other living things in nature, and almost superior, have expressed in advance that man is free. On the other hand, the increasing knowledge of nature and human beings are aggressive in their claims with receptive human beings as a natural being, and therefore all of their actions are like those of other living things in nature. Although many views on the problem have been expressed throughout history, the views basically depend on the knowledge of the essential difference of human beings and other beings in nature or the belief that there is a continuity between nature and humans. However, Nietzsche's reign against both views. The main reason for Nietzsche's opposition to these views is the meeting from the principle he calls the Will to Power. Establishing this principle, Nietzsche claims that there is no essential difference between human beings and other beings and that accepted understandings of nature are interpretations. Therefore, Nietzsche grounds his understanding of freedom differently from the views he criticizes and their predecessors.
