To feed the world in 2050, the humankind has to change the course. Nowadays, agriculture is facing an unprecedented challenge. With each and next day, we require more food source because of the rapid increase in the world population. In order to satisfy the need for required food, new technologies are being assessed. Agricultural UAV's are one of these new technologies that can be used for this purpose. In this current master thesis, general information about UAV's, their application on agriculture, working principle and mathematical model of an octocopter and finally, the design of an agricultural octocopter is presented. The process starts with calculating the required thrust and ends with finding solutions to two major problems about agricultural UAV's which are endurance and cost. In order to reach the optimal solution to these problems, octocopter parts were chosen after market research and initial calculations. The most crucial part was the selection of compatible motor, battery, ESC and the flight controller. In this thesis, integration of systems and subsystems were performed, endurance and cost of the agricultural octocopter was computed. After computation, the design was compared with other competitive agricultural octocopters in order to see the capability of the design. A realistic 3D model of the agricultural octocopter was created using SolidWorks software in order to visualize the final design and enabling to manufacture a prototype model for field testing at the future.
