Özet
Bu çalışmadaki amaç özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde zihinsel engel tanısı ile eğitim almakta olan çocukların postür, denge, üst ekstremite koordinasyon becerilerinin ve yaşam kalitelerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışmaya 8-16 yaş aralığında 30 zihinsel engelli tanılı çocuk ve 30 sağlıklı kontrol grubu dahil edildi. New York Postür Analizi kullanılarak postür değerlendirmesi yapıldı. Motor becerilerini değerlendirmek için Bruiniks-Oseretsky Motor Testi alt test 5 ve 7 kullanıldı. Bu testler ile çocukların özellikle denge ve üst ekstremite koordinasyonları değerlendirildi. Yaşam kalitesi değerlendirilmesi amacıyla Pediatrik Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçesi uygulandı. Postür analizinde zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuklar sağlıklı çocuklara göre anlamlı olarak düşük bulundu (p<0,05). Denge değerlendirmesinde zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip grup sağlıklı gruba göre anlamlı olarak düşük bulundu (p<0,05). Üst ekstremite koordinasyonu değerlendirmesinde zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip grup sağlıklı gruba göre anlamlı olarak düşük bulundu (p<0,05). Zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip çocukların yaşam kalitesi sağlıklı gruba göre anlamlı seviyede düşük bulundu (p<0,05). Bu çalışmada zihinsel engelli bireylerin akademik ve sosyal yeteneklerinin yanı sıra motor beceri ve postürlerinde de etkilenim olduğu gösterilmektedir. Bu bireylerin rehabilitasyonunda fiziksel aktivite ve motor becerilerine de önem verilmesi gerekmektedir. Eğitim programlarına fizyoterapi eğitimlerinin de eklenerek çocuklara bu konuda destek verilmesi gerektiğini önermekteyiz.

The aim of this study is to remove mental barriers in special education and centers, and to include the posture, balance, upper extremity coordination of children in education and to evaluate their quality of life. Thirty children with mental retardation between the ages of 8-16 and 30 healthy controls were included in the study. New York Posture Analysis was performed using posture assessment. Bruiniks-Oseretsky Engine Test subtest 5 and 7 temperature for engine blasting. With these organs, especially the balance and upper extremity coordination of the children were evaluated. Pediatric Quality of Life Scale statement for assessment of quality of life. In the postural analysis, it was found that the mentally retarded children were lower than the healthy children (p<0.05). In the balance assessment, the mentally retarded group was found to be variably lower than the health group (p<0.05). In the evaluation of upper extremity coordination, the mentally retarded group was found to be lower than the healthy group (p<0.05). The quality of life of children with intellectual disability was found to be lower than the health group (p<0.05). It is recommended that these mentally handicapped people have an impact on their motor skills and postures as well as their academic and social skills. It is necessary to give importance to the activity and motor skills of these people in their life activities. We suggest that physiotherapy trainings be added to the education programs and that children should be supported in this regard.
