43 6. ÖZET Bu çalışmada bıldırcın yumurtalarında anaç yaşımn, yumurta ağırlığının ve şekil indeksinin, kuluçka sonuçlarına etkilerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma materyalini Bingöl Meslek Yüksek Okulundan getirtilen 1. yaş grubundan 198, 2. yaş grubundan 375 olmak üzere toplam 573 adet bıldırcın yumurtası teşkil etmiştir. İstatistiki değerlendirmelerde khi-kare (x2), varyans analizi ve t testi metotlarından yararlanılmıştır. Önemli bulunan varyans analizi sonucunda farklılığın hangi grup yada gruplardan kaynaklandığını ortaya koymak için de Duncan testi uygulanmıştır. 44 7. SUMMARY The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of mother age, egg weight and shape index on incubation out comes and to improve incubation performance in quail eggs. A total number of 573 quail eggs; 198 from first age group and 375 from second age group, brought from Bingöl Professional High School, were used as material in the study. A chi squared (x2), analysis of variance and t test were used for statistical analyses. Duncan test was carried out to demonstrate in which group (s) the differences, found in variance analysis, were occurred. At the end of study, the effect of age on fertility rate, and hatchability was found to be statistically significant (P < 0.01). Average egg weight was 10.63 ± 0.05 g in age and egg weight groups, it was 10.88 ± 0.07 g and 10.51 ± 0.06 g in first and second age groups, respectively. The differences between the values obtained from the age groups in terms of egg weight were highly significant (P < 0.001). However, there was no statistically significant difference in terms of egg weight in slight, medium and heavy egg groups. In first age group, the difference among weight groups in terms of fertility rate and incubator performance was not significant, whereas it was determined to be significant in terms of incubation outcomes (P < 0.05). İn second age group, the difference among the weight groups in terms of fertility rate was nonsignificant, but it was significant in terms of incubator performance and incubation outcomes (P < 0.05). Average shape index in age groups was 79.15 ± 0.14. It was 78.90 ± 0.25 and 79.28 ± 0.17 in first and second age groups, respectively. The difference between the age groups in terms of shape index was not significant.
