Özet
Türkiye'nin siyasi hayatındaki önemli kurumlardan biri de Cumhuriyet Senatosu'dur. Cumhuriyet Senatosu 1961 yılında kurulmuş ve 12 Eylül 1980 darbesine kadar varlığını sürdürmüştür. Senato'da Giresun'u Mehmet İzmen, Hayrettin Erkmen, Sabahattin Orhon, Mehmet İhsan Topaloğlu ve Hacı Ali Cüceoğlu temsil etmiştir. Mehmet İzmen, Mehmet İhsan Topaloğlu ve Hayrettin Erkmen aynı zamanda bakanlıkta yapmışlardır. Giresun Senatörleri; Tarım, Maliye, Milli Savunma ve Çalışma Bakanlıkları'nda aktif görev aldıklarından senatoda bu bakanlıkların bütçe tasarıları daha çok gündeme getirilmiştir. Bakanlıkların bütçe tasarılarından sonra Giresun ve Doğu Karadeniz halkının sorunları senatoda tartışılmıştır. Doğu Karadeniz halkının başlıca sorunları arasında; fındık taban fiyatları, halkın geçim sıkıntısı, orman ürünlerinden faydalanmaları, su ürünlerinin tüketimi, maviküf hastalığı ve sel felaketleri bulunmaktadır. Giresun senatörleri bunların yanı sıra ülkedeki ekonomik sıkıntıları, tarımda ve hayvancılıkta karşılaşılan sorunları, diğer ülkelerde yaşayan göçmen Türklerin sorunlarını da senatoda gündeme getirmişlerdir.

One of the important institutions in Turkey's political administration is the Senate of the Republic. The Senate of the Republic was established in 1961 and continues to exist until the coup d'etat of September 12, 1980. Mehmet İzmen, Hayrettin Erkmen, Sabahattin Orhon, Mehmet İhsan Topaloğlu and Hacı Ali Cüceoğlu represented Giresun in the Senate. Mehmet İzmen, Mehmet İhsan Topaloğlu and Hayrettin Erkmen also served in the ministry. Giresun Senators; The budget drafts of these ministries can be further reduced in the Senate, where they take active roles in the Ministries of Agriculture, Finance, National Defense and Labor. After the budget structures of the ministries, the people of Giresun and the Eastern Black Sea were discussed in the senate. Among the problems that the residents of the Eastern Black Sea Region have; hazelnut base prices, erosion of people, utilization of forest products, water consumption, blue mold diseases and flood disasters. In addition to the Giresun senators, the economic problems of their bodies, the problems in agriculture and animal husbandry, the immigrant Turks living in other countries brought to the senate.
