Özet
Bu çalışmada, 1871-1958 tarih aralığında vefat eden ve Yeni Türk Edebiyatında öne çıkan otuz yazar ve şairin vefatlarının hemen ardından yayınlanan haberler ve nekrolojik metinler incelenmiştir. Bu haber ve metinlerle söz konusu kişilerin vefatlarının kamuoyuna nasıl duyurulduğu, vefatlarından hemen sonra nasıl anıldıkları ve haklarında ne gibi yazılar yazıldığı konu edilmiştir. Bu araştırmaya kişilerin vefat ettiği günkü sayılardan başlanmış ve bu tarihlerden itibaren yayınların otuz günlük sayıları taranmıştır. Bu haber ve yazılar betimleyici bir şekilde ele alınmış, haberin veya yazının içeriğiyle ilgili bir tartışmaya gidilmemiştir. Söz konusu yazar ve şairlerin seçiminde örneklem yöntemiyle çalışılmıştır. Tezde üzerinde durulan kişilerin vefatı diğer yazar ve şairlere kıyasla süreli yayınlarda daha çok gündem hâline gelmiş,“ilk sayfa”haberlerinde manşetlerle duyurulmuştur. Aynı zamanda imkânlar sebebiyle de yazar ve şairler için bir seçime gitme zorunluluğu oluşmuştur. Ele alınan malzemenin çokluğu bir yüksek lisans tezi süresi içerisinde değerlendirilmiş, dolayısıyla konu günümüze kadar getirilememiştir. Bu yüzden bu çalışma Yeni Türk Edebiyatı kurucu şahsiyetlerinden Şinasi'nin vefatı ile başlatılmış, Yeni Türk Edebiyatı tarihinin bir başka önemli şahsiyeti Yahya Kemal'in vefatı ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Sınıflandırmada siyasî devir ayrımları gözetilmiş, yazar ve şairler vefat tarihlerine göre sıralanmıştır. Bu haber ve yazıların yer aldığı süreli yayınlar ise dönemlerinde en yüksek tiraja sahip yayınlardır. Dolayısıyla süreli yayınların seçiminde de dönemlerinde sahip oldukları baskı sayısı esas alınmıştır.

This study analyzes the news and necrological texts of thirty featured Modern Turkish literature writers who passed away in the years between 1871-1958. These news and texts are studied to demonstrate how the death of the aforementioned writers reverberated in the public, how they were remembered after their death and what was written about them when they were deceased. The research started from the date when the writers died, and the daily publications were examined after these dates. The news and texts were studied descriptively, and the news or texts were not discussed critically. The selection of the figures was made by sampling method. The deaths of the individualities that were emphasized in this study became the agenda more frequently compared to the other writers and poets and they were headlined in the first page of the newspapers. Additional limitations also imposed the necessity of a selection of writers and poets. Vastness of the discussed material was evaluated within a time frame of a master's thesis; hence the subject could not be brought up to date. Therefore, the study was started with the death of Şinasi, one of the founding figures of Modern Turkish Literature, and was limited with the death of Yahya Kemal, another important figure in the history of Modern Turkish Literature. The classification was made by taking the distinctions of political periods into account, and the writers and poets were listed according to the date of their death. The periodic publications of the news and texts are the publications with the highest circulation of their era.
