Özet

Son yıllarda gerek hareketsiz yaşam tarzı gerekse paketli gıda ve hazır yemek sektörünün genişlemesiyle tüketimin yaygınlaşması sonucu kan şekeri hastalıklarında artış gözlenmektedir. İnsülin direnci tanısı alıp“bitkilerle tedavi (fitoterapi)”den destek almak isteyen kişi sayısı da aynı ölçüde artmaktadır. Bu gözlemden yola çıkarak İzmir/Bornova'daki özel diyetisyen kliniğine başvuran 18-65 yaş arası insülin direnci sendromu tanısı olan 100 hasta üzerinde anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Tüm istatistik analizler için 'IBM SPSS Statistics Version 25' programı kullanılmıştır ve anlamlılık düzeyi p<0,05 kabul edilmiştir. Anket; kişisel bilgileri sorgulayan 4 soru, insülin direnci tanısına ait detayları sorgulayan 5 soru ve kullanılan bitkisel ürün ve uygulamasını değerlendirmeyi amaçlayan 16 soru olmak üzere toplam 25 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların % 53'ü kadın, % 47'si erkek olup, % 46 oranında katılımcı glifor, matofin, glukofen, metformin vb. gibi ilaçlarla medikal tedaviye başlandığını belirtmiştir.“Bitkisel ürün kullanma sebebiniz nedir”sorusu sorulan katılımcılardan“ilaç kullanmamak”olarak cevap verenlerin oranı % 57 ile ilk sırada gelmektedir.“İlaca destek”cevabı verenlerin oranı % 23,“oluşabilecek diğer hastalıkları önlemek”şeklinde cevap verenlerin oranı % 12 iken,“ilacı bırakmak”olarak cevap verenler % 5,“ilaç yan etkilerini hafifletmek”yanıtı verenler ise % 3 olarak görünmektedir. Katılımcılardan 44 kişi çeşitli formları şeklinde“çörekotu/yağı”kullanmaktadır. Katılımcılardan 70 kişi çeşitli formları halinde“tarçın”, 37 kişi çeşitli formları şeklinde“zeytin yaprağı”, 18 kişi çeşitli formları şeklinde“şeker otu”, 18 kişi çeşitli formları halinde“kudret narı”, 14 kişi ise çeşitli formları halinde olmak üzere“kutsal fesleğen”kullandığını belirtmiştir.
