Özet
Bu çalışma, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin rutin olmayan problemlerin çözümündeki başarılarını, problem çözme stratejilerini kullanabilme düzeylerini, sınıf seviyesinin problem çözmedeki başarı durumuna ve strateji kullanımına etkisini ve farklı okul türlerindeki öğrencilerin problemlerin çözümünde kullanabildikleri stratejileri incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu amaç kapsamında araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama araştırması deseni kullanılmıştır. Bursa ili Merkez ilçelerindeki farklı ortaöğretim kurumlarında öğrenim gören 691 öğrenci bu çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Öğrenciler, meslek lisesi, anadolu lisesi, imam hatip lisesi ve fen lisesi kurumlarında öğrenim görmektedir. Veriler, beş adet rutin olmayan problemi içeren problem çözme testi aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Problem çözme testi ile sistematik liste yapma, şekil/diyagram çizme, problemi basitleştirme, bağıntı bulma ve muhakeme etme stratejileri öncelikli olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma öğrencilerin problem çözme stratejilerinin kullanımını incelediğinden bu problemler farklı stratejiler ile çözülebilecek şekildedir. Veriler betimsel analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin en çok kullandıkları problem çözme stratejisi şekil veya diyagram çizme stratejisi olurken en az kullandıkları strateji bağıntı bulma stratejisi olmuştur. Öğrencilerin kullandıkları stratejilerdeki farklılığın belirlenmesinde en çok kullandıkları ikinci veya üçüncü stratejiler etkili olmuştur. Başarısı düşük olan öğrencilerin en çok kullandıkları ikinci strateji tahmin ve kontrol stratejisi ile problemi basitleştirme stratejisi iken başarısı yüksek öğrencilerin en çok kullandıkları ikinci strateji ise muhakeme etme stratejisi olmuştur. Ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin rutin olmayan problemlerin çözümünde birden fazla strateji kullanabildikleri tespit edilmiştir. Başarı düzeyi yüksek okullardaki öğrencilerin rutin olmayan problemlerin çözümünde diğer okullardaki öğrencilere göre daha başarılı oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Fakat istenilen düzeyde bir başarı elde edilememiştir. Ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin rutin olmayan problemleri çözme becerilerinin düşük seviyede olduğu belirlenmiştir.

This study aimed to examine the high school students' success in solving non-routine problems, their ability to use problem solving strategies, the effect of grade level on the success status and strategy use in problem solving, and the strategies that students in different types of schools can use in solving problems. For this purpose, survey design, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample of this study consists of 691 students studying in different secondary education institutions in the central districts of Bursa. Students study at vocational high school, anatolian high school, imam hatip high school and science high school. The data were collected through the problem solving test, which includes five non-routine problems. With the problem solving test, the strategies of making a systematic list, making a drawing or diagram, solving a simpler problem, looking for a pattern and logical reasoning were primarily examined. Since the research examines the use of students' problem solving strategies, these problems can be solved with different strategies. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis methods. As a result of the research, while the problem solving strategy that secondary school students use the most is the strategy of maknig a drawing or diagram, the strategy they use the least is the strategy of looking for a pattern. The second or third most used strategies were effective in determining the strategies used by the students. While the second strategy most used by the students with low success was the guess and check strategy and the strategy of solving a simpler problem, the second strategy most used by the students with high success was logical reasoning strategy. It has been determined that high school students can use more than one strategy in solving non-routine problems. It has been determined that the students in schools with high success levels are more successful in solving non-routine problems than the students in other schools. However, they could not achieve the desired level of success. It was determined that high school students' non-routine problem solving skills were at a low level.
