Özet
ÖZET İstanbul Adaları doğal çevre zenginliklerinin yanı sıra; genel olarak 19.yy.'ın 2. yarısı ile 20.yy.'ın başlarında yapılmış binalardan oluşan özgün bir yapay çevreye sahiptirler. Günümüzde, yaşanan demografik, ekonomik ve fiziksel sorunlardan dolayı, gerek doğal çevre zenginlikleri, gerekse özgün mimari oluşumlar, bir bir zarar görerek yok olmaktadırlar. Bu tezin amacı, Adalar'daki özgün fiziksel çevre (doğal çevre zenginlikleri, özgün yerleşim dokusu, mimari özellikler) oluşumlarının korunması ve değerlendirilmesi için izlenilmesi gereken yöntemin belirlenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda yapılan çalışmada: 1. Bölüm olan Girişte, sorun ortaya konmuş, tezin amacı, kapsamı ve kullanılan yöntem belirtilmiştir. 2. Bölümde, var olan literatür bilgileri taranarak Adalar'ın genel olarak coğrafya, tarihçe, demografik yapı ve ulaşım olanakları belirtilmiştir. 3. Bölümde meskun olan İstanbul Adalar' inin her birinin tarihsel süreç içinde sosyal gelişimi ile fiziksel gelişimi, paralel olarak ele alınıp incelenerek, günümüzde Adalar' m karakterini belirleyen özgün yerleşim dokusunun oluşumuna etki eden sosyal, ekonomik ve fiziksel koşullar ortaya konmuştur. 4. Bölümde İstanbul Adalar'mda fiziksel çevrenin analizi yapılarak, doğal çevre zenginlikleri ile yapay çevre incelenmiştir. Doğal çevrede, mevcut çam ormanları, kıyılar ve yeşil alanlar ile buradaki özgün doğal çevre zenginlikleri ele alınmıştır. Yapay çevrede ise, özgün yerleşim dokusu ile bunu oluşturan sokaklar, meydanlar ve buradaki tarihi belge niteliği taşıyan binaların dış cephe yüzeyleri analiz edilmiştir. Özgün yerleşim dokusunu oluşturan sokak ve meydanlar; siluet perspektif, vaziyet planı ve kesitlerle tespit edilmişlerdir. Çalışmada incelenen tarihi binalar ise oluşturulan envanterde, ayrıntılı perspektif, cephe görünüşü ve vaziyet planı ile kaydedilmişlerdir. 5. Bölümde İstanbul Adalar'ının sosyal ve fiziksel gelişiminde yaşanan sorunlar, kaynaklarına inilerek ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmışlardır. Sonuç ve Öneriler Bölümünde ise tezin amacı doğrultusunda varılan sonuç ve öneriler yer almaktadır.

ABSTRACT Istanbul Islands have,besides their natural enrichments, a unique artificial man-made environmend, made of buildings that were built in the second half of the 19th Century and at the beginning of 20th Century: Today, due to the prevailing demographic, economic and physical problems, both natural enrichments and unique architectural structures get damaged and vahished one by one. The purpose of this paper is to set forth the methods that are required in order to protect and evaluate the unique physical environmental structures in the Islands (natural enrichments, unique settlement mode, architectural structures). In this present paper, that was issued for that purpose: In the 1st Part, the problem was defined and the purpose, scope and the method employed were described. In the 2nd Part, through the use of the existing literature, the geography, the history, demographic structure and transport facilities of the Islands were identified. In the 3rd Part, social and physical development of each of the Istanbul islands, that are used for settlenent, within its historical process were reviewed in parallel to each other, and, social economic and physical conditions that affect their unique settlement mode which identify the character of the Islands were identified. In the 4th Part, the physical environment was analyzed and, natural enrichments and artificial environment were studied. As a part of the natural environment, the existing pine woods, beaches and greens as well as the unique natural enrichments were considered. In the artificial environment, on the other hand, the inuque mode of settlement, the streets that make up such mode, squares and the external faces of the buildings, that are qualified as historical documents were analyzed. The streets and squares, that make up the unique mode of settlement were studied with their silhouette perspectives, layout plans and cross sections. On the other hand, the historical buildings, that were studied, were noted with their detailed perspectives, fascial appearances and layout plans in the already created inventories. In the 5th Part, the problems that are encountered in the social and physical development of Istanbul Islands were handled in detail, going further into their sources. In the part“Conclusion and Suggestions”, conclusions that are reached under the scope of the Paper as well as suggestions are handled.
