Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Sinop'ta Kürek Sporunun tarihsel sürecine açıklık getirerek Kürek Sporuna dikkatleri çekebilmek ve Sinop'taki Kürek Sporunun yarınına ışık tutabilmektir. Sinop kentinin tarihsel süreci incelendiğinde, Sinoplu'nun Su Sporlarına ve sportif aktivitelere olan ilgisi dikkat çeker. Doğal liman oluşu, gemi yapımına uygun ağaçlardan oluşan ormanlara sahip olması, ayrıca yöre halkının denizciliğe duyduğu ilgi ve şehrin coğrafi özelliklerinden dolayı, seneler boyu Selçuklular, Pervaneoğulları, Candaroğulları, Osmanlılar ve Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nin ilk yıllarında Devletin Tersane kenti olarak görev yapması da Sinoplu'nun Denizciliğe olan ilgisini yansıtmaktadır. Arşiv Taraması sonucunda elde edilen 1936, 1940, 1941, 1942 ve 1993 yıllarına ait Sinop Gazetelerinde yer alan Kürek Yarışlarına dair haberler, Sinoplularla yapılan röportajlar sonucu Yarışlara dair anılar ve 1965 yılı Kabotaj Bayramına ait Olimpik Tekne ile çekilmiş fotoğraf başta olmak üzere, araştırmadan elde edilen tüm bilgi ve belgeler, Kürek Sporunun Sinop'ta geniş bir Kültüre sahip olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç olarak yapılan çalışmada, Kürek Sporu Tarihinin Sinop İli Tarihi kadar eskiye dayandığı görülmüştür. Karadeniz Bölgesi ve çevresinde kurulan bütün uygarlıklara tersane vazifesini üstlenen Sinop'ta, teknolojinin gelişimi ile Kürek Sporunun meslek olmaktan çıkıp, eğlence amaçlı kullanımına dönüştüğü gözlemlenmiştir. Kabotaj Bayramı ilanının ardından gönderilen modern Kürek tekneleri ile de sportif kullanımının temelleri atılıp, 2011 yılında Karadeniz Kupası Kürek Yarışları ile günümüz Kürek Federasyonu bünyesinde antrenmanlarını sürdüren Kulüplere dönüşüm sağlandığı saptanmıştır. 2023 yılı itibari ile Kürek Kulüpleri bünyesinde lisanslı lisanssız yüz kadar sporcu ile Kürek Spor Kültürü yaşamını sürdürmektedir.

The aim of this study is to draw attention to Rowing by clarifying the historical process of Rowing in Sinop and to shed light on the future of Rowing in Sinop. When the historical process of the city of Sinop is examined, the interest of the people of Sinop in Water Sports and sporting activities attracts attention. Being a natural port, having forests consisting of trees suitable for shipbuilding, as well as the interest of the local people in maritime and the geographical characteristics of the city, it has served as the shipyard city of the State for years for the Seljuks, Pervaneoğulları, Candaroğulları, Ottomans and the first years of the Republican Era. It reflects 's interest in maritime. As a result of the archive scanning, the news about the Rowing Races in the Sinop Newspapers of 1936, 1940, 1941, 1942 and 1993, the memories of the Races as a result of the interviews with the people of Sinop, and the photo taken with the Olympic Boat for the Cabotage Festival in 1965, were obtained from the research. All information and documents have revealed that Rowing has a wide culture in Sinop. As a result, in the study, it was seen that the history of rowing sports dates back to the history of Sinop Province. In Sinop, which served as a shipyard for all civilizations established in the Black Sea Region and its surroundings, it has been observed that with the development of technology, rowing sport has ceased to be a profession and turned into recreational use. It was determined that the foundations of sportive use were laid with the modern Rowing boats sent after the Cabotage Day declaration, and the transformation into Clubs that continue their training within the current Rowing Federation was achieved with the Black Sea Cup Rowing Races in 2011. As of 2023, the Rowing Sports Culture continues its life with approximately one hundred licensed and unlicensed athletes within the Rowing Clubs.
