Özet (Çeviri)
An Islamic scholar from Afghanistan is the focus of our doctoral thesis with the subject title“Western Powers in the Life of Seyyid Jamaladdin Afghani and the Traces He Left on the Islamic World”. The life of this scholar, who introduced the ideas of unity and progress to all Muslims, based on the concept of ummah in Islam, was filled with internal conflicts and foreign occupations supported by external powers in his country. In particular, the Afghan-British war that took place between 1878-1880 and the country that was occupied following the Gandamak Treaty was an important development that dragged Seyyid Cemalettin to his travels abroad. A series of crises await the Islamic scholar who longs for this freedom in his time. He was expelled from almost every country he went to because of his stance against despotism and occupation. However, his libertarian thoughts and suggestions for Muslims to live in better conditions attract attention and influence large masses. Once upon a time, Ottoman Sultan, Even though II. Abdülhamit wanted to entrust him with the position of Shaykh al-Islam, he refused. The rulers point to Seyyid as the main reason for the rebellions in their countries due to his libertarian rhetoric and stance against tyrannical regimes. The British search for Sayyid behind the uprisings that broke out one after another in the colonial lands of Afghanistan, India, Egypt and Sudan. The French associate the uprisings of Tunisian and Algerian Muslims with Sayyid's discourses. Seyydi Cemalettin stayed in Iran, India, Egypt, the Ottoman Empire, England, France and eventually Russia and tried to awaken the Islamic world against imperialism with the newspapers and magazines he published wherever he went. While everyone talked about him as a spy and traitor during his lifetime, everyone wanted to see him as their own because of his revolutionary and reformist thoughts after his life. In our study, what is known about Seyyid Cemalettin's life has been examined, taking into account the time period in which he lived. The power struggles in his country during his youth are presented chronologically. The activities he carried out during his travels are presented with documents of the period. Ultimately, it has been tried to prove the ideas that Seyyid Cemalettin presented to the Islamic world and his traces among Islamic intellectuals
