Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Alessandro Baricco'nun Okyanus Deniz, Kent ve Mr. Gwyn isimli üç eserinde simülakr ve simülasyon kavramlarının incelenmesidir. Alessandro Baricco, Çağdaş İtalyan Edebiyatının en önemli isimlerinden biridir ve eserleri birçok dile çevrilmiştir. Bu sebeple tezin ilk bölümünde simülakr ve simülasyon kavramları üzerine fikirleri olan, farklı yüzyıllarda yaşamış olan birçok düşünürün görüşlerine yer verilerek bu iki kavramın geçmişten günümüze nasıl değiştiği ve nasıl ulaştığı çalışılmıştır. Buna ek olarak dünya edebiyatında bu iki kavramdan bahsedildiğinde akla gelen birkaç önemli edebî eserinde bu doğrultuda incelemesi verilmiştir. Üç ana bölümden oluşan çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde ise Alessandro Baricco'nun, birçok farklı alanda ve birçok farklı metin türünde ne tür konuları ele aldığı, edebiyatta ne tür bir sınıfa dahil edilebileceği ve yazarın yaşantısının, hayat görüşlerinin edebî tarzına yansımaları açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Nitekim Alessandro Baricco sadece edebiyatla değil, felsefeyle, müzikle, küreselleşme ile de ilgilenen çok yönlü bir yazardır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise tüm bu veriler ışığında Okyanus Deniz, Kent ve Mr. Gwyn isimli eserlerin anlatılarına yer verilerek simülakr ve simülasyon kavramlarıyla ilişkisi değerlendirilmiştir.

This study aims to examine the concepts of simulacra and simulation in Alessandro Baricco's three works: Ocean Sea, City and Mr. Gwyn. Alessandro Baricco is one of the most important names of Contemporary Italian Literature and his works have been translated into many languages. For this reason, in the first part of the thesis, the views of many thinkers who have lived in different centuries and had ideas on the concepts of simulacra and simulation are included, and it was studied how these two concepts changed from the past to the present and how they reached the present. In addition, a few important literary works that come to mind when these two concepts are mentioned in world literature are examined. In the second part of the study, which consists of three main parts, it is tried to be explained what kind of topics Alessandro Baricco deals with in many different fields and many different text types, what kind of genre he can be included in the literature, and the reflections of the author's life and views on his literary style. Alessandro Baricco is a versatile writer who is interested not only in literature but also in philosophy, music, and globalization. In the last part of the study, in light of all these data, the narratives of the works named Ocean Sea, City, and Mr. Gwyn are included, and their relationship with the concepts of simulacra and simulation is evaluated.
