Özet

Eğitim mekanları, fazla zaman geçirilen zihinsel aktivitelerin aktif olarak yaşandığı, motivasyon ve dikkatin fazla olması gereken mekanlardandır. Birçok bilim insanı rengin bireyin dikkatini çekme, motivasyon sağlama, iç zihinsel gerilimini hafifletme ve sağlık tedavisinde değişim sağladığı konusunda hemfikirdir. Eğitim kuramlarının hedeflerine ulaşabilmesi için eğitim yapılarının iç mekan tasarımları ve renk, iç mekan tasarım ölçütlerinden biri olarak önemlidir. Ortaöğretim lise kademesindeki öğrencilerin, eğitim iç mekanı sınıflarda kullanılan duvar rengi tercihlerini belirlemek ve ortaöğretim eğitim mekanları sınıf alanlarında işleve yönelik, odaklanma ve dikkat süresi ile bütüncül eğitim-öğretime katkı sağlayan, iç mekanda renk kullanımının psikolojik etkilerine ilişkin tasarım ölçütleri oluşturarak doğru renkleri belirlemek bu çalışmanın amacıdır. Tez kapsamında ilk önce renk kavramı, rengi görme algılama, renk nedir?, renk sistemleri, rengin genel sınıflandırılması, rengin birbirleriyle olan etkileşimi konuları ve alt başlıkları açıklanmıştır. Devamında renk ve mekan ilişkisi, rengin insan algısı üzerindeki psikolojik, fiziksel ve fizyolojik etkilerine değinilmiştir, devamında eğitim mekanları ve öğrenme kavramı açıklanmıştır ve renklerin eğitim mekanlarının iç mekân tasarımında yani sınıflarda kullanım örnekleri ve amaçları belirlenmiştir. Son kısımda ise tezin deneysel alanı olan anket çalışması yapılmış ve veriler SPSS (Statistical Package For The Social Sciences) programında analiz edilmiştir. Anket çalışmasında örnek seçilen Atakent Anadolu Lisesinin sınıftaki akıllı tahta-yazı tahtasının bulunduğu duvar alanı; dünyaca kabul görmüş Munsell renk sistemindeki dört rengin çeşitli türleriyle photoshop kullanılarak görseller hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan görseller üzerinden örnek seçilen lisede eğitim gören, 323 gönüllü öğrencinin, sınıf duvar rengi tercihleri belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda, öğrencilerin sınıflarının ve okulunun mevcut duvar renginden memnun olmadığı, okuluna ve sınıfına karşı tutum ve davranışlarının olumsuz yönde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre öğrenme ortamlarına yönelik memnuniyetsizliğin ve olumsuz tutum davranışların öğrenme faaliyetleri üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir.

Educational facilities are defined as environments where cognitive activities are conducted for extended periods of time, necessitating high levels of motivation and attention. A significant number of scientists concur that colour can attract attention, motivate, alleviate mental stress, and facilitate change in healthcare. In order for educational institutions to achieve their objectives, it is crucial to consider the role of interior design, including colour, within the context of interior layout. The objective of this study is to determine the colour preferences of students in the lower secondary education level, specifically in the context of the classroom. The aim is to identify the colour choices made by students in the lower secondary education level and to analyse the impact of these choices on the learning environment. The objective of this study is to contribute to the advancement of holistic education and learning by developing design guidelines for interior spaces that consider the psychological effects of colour. The thesis commences with an examination of the concept of colour, the perception of colour, the nature of colour, colour systems, the classification of colour, and the interaction between colours. The subsequent section addresses the relationship between colour and space, exploring the psychological, physical and physiological effects of colour on human perception. This is followed by an examination of educational settings and their associated terminology. The concept of learning has been elucidated, and the manner in which colours are employed in the interior design of educational facilities, including classrooms, has been delineated. Finally, a survey was conducted to test the hypothesis, and the data was analysed using the SPSS software. The sample area of the Atakent Anadolu Lisesi classroom wall, where the intelligent chalkboard is located, has been painted in accordance with the Munsell colour system, using four different colours. The resulting images have been created using the Ps format. The images were created using the Munsell colour system, which comprises four primary colours. These images were then used to determine the preferred colour of the classroom walls for the 323 students who had previously attended the school. The findings of this study indicate that the students are dissatisfied with the existing wall colours in their classrooms and that their attitudes and behaviours towards the school and their classes are negative. The findings of this study indicate that the students' satisfaction with the learning environment and their negative attitudes and behaviours have an impact on their learning outcomes.
