Özet

Reform dönemine kadar kilisenin kontrolünde ve onun gözetiminde okunan, yorumlanan ve anlatılan Kutsal Kitap, reformun kurucu isimlerinin gayreti ve çabasıyla sola Scriptura kavramı altında yalnızca Kutsal Kitap'ın otoritesi dogmasına dönüştürülerek herkesin okunmasına imkân sağlanmıştır. Kökünü Rönesans'tan alan bu doktrin, Aydınlanmanın da doğuşuna katkı sağlamıştır. Bu açıdan hem reform dönemi hem de sonrası için önemli kabul edilmiş ve Hıristiyanlığın bölünmesinde birincil derecede etki eden unsurlar arasında zikredilmiştir. Bu doktrin bağlamında ortaya çıkan gelenek tartışmaları Katolikler ve Protestanlar arasında ayrıştırıcı olmuş, Katolikler Protestanları geleneği yok sayıp Kutsal Kitap'ı kendilerince yorumlamakla suçlamıştır. Buna karşılık Protestanlar da Katolikleri gelenek adı altında Kutsal Kitap'ta kaynağı olmayan birçok şeyi Hıristiyanlığa sokuşturmakla suçlamışlardır. XVI. asırdan bugüne devam eden bu süreçte sola Scriptura tartışmaları, beraberinde sadece Katolik Kilisesi'nde değil Protestanlar arasında da bölünmelere ve ayrılmalara yol açmıştır. Son dönemlerde özellikle Protestanlıktan ayrılıp Katolik Kilisesi'ne geçen kimselerin dile getirdikleri en önemli eleştirilerden biri Protestanlık içinde hâlen devam etmekte olan bu bölünmüşlük ve buna bağlı olarak köksüzlük problemidir.

The Bible, which was read, interpreted and explained under the control and supervision of the church until the Reformation period, was transformed into the dogma of the authority of the Bible alone under the concept of sola Scriptura with the efforts and efforts of the founding figures of the Reformation, allowing everyone to read it. This doctrine, rooted in the Renaissance, also contributed to the birth of the Enlightenment. In this respect, it was considered important for both the reform period and its aftermath, and was mentioned among the factors that had a primary impact on the division of Christianity. The tradition debates that emerged in the context of this doctrine were divisive between Catholics and Protestants, with Catholics accusing Protestants of ignoring tradition and interpreting the Bible in their own way. On the other hand, Protestants accused Catholics of introducing many things into Christianity under the name of tradition that had no biblical source. In this process, which has continued since the 16th century, the sola Scriptura debates have led to divisions and separations not only in the Catholic Church but also among Protestants. One of the most important criticisms voiced recently, especially by those who have left Protestantism and converted to the Catholic Church, is this ongoing problem of division and rootlessness within Protestantism.
