Özet

Bilim ve teknoloji, her gün gelişmekte ve değişmektedir. Bu gelişim her alanı etkilemektedir. Gelişmiş ülkelerin yapısı incelendiğinde bilim ve teknolojide ileri oldukları görülmektedir. Bu alanlarda ilerlemenin yolu, verilen eğitimden geçmektedir. Fen Bilimleri dersinin amaçlarından birisi de bireylerin bu değişen ve gelişen dünyaya en iyi şekilde uyum sağlamalarına yardımcı olmaktır. Bu doğrultuda Fen Bilimleri dersi ile teknolojideki değişimi ele alan, eleştirel düşünebilen, 21. yüzyıl becerilerine sahip, problemlere çözüm üretebilen, bireysel farklılıkları dikkate alan, araştırma ve sorgulama kabiliyetine sahip bireylerin yetiştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaca hizmet edebilecek modellerden birisi ASSURE öğretim tasarım modelidir. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, 7. sınıf Fen Bilimleri dersi 'Kuvvet ve Enerji' ünitesinin öğretiminin ASSURE modeli ile gerçekleştirilmesinin, öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ile bilgi ve teknoloji okuryazarlığına etkisini ve öğrenci görüşlerini incelemektir. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tek gruplu ön test-son test deneysel deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini, bir devlet okulunda, 7. sınıfta öğrenim gören 20 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını ölçmek için 'Kuvvet ve Enerji Ünitesi Kavramlarına İlişkin Doküman Formu', bilgi ve teknoloji okuryazarlıklarını ölçmek için 'Bilgi ve Teknoloji Okuryazarlığı Becerileri Değerlendirme Rubriği' ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Öğrenci görüşlerini almak için ise“ASSURE Modeline İlişkin Görüşler Formu”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analiziyle ulaşılan sonuçlar, ASSURE modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen öğretim sürecinin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ile bilgi ve teknoloji okuryazarlıklarını anlamlı şekilde geliştirdiğini ve öğrencilerin ASSURE modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen öğretim sürecine dair olumlu görüşler bildirdiklerini göstermiştir. Öğrencilerin olumlu görüşleri incelendiğinde, ASSURE öğretim tasarım modelinin eğlenceli olması, farklı yöntem ve teknikler içermesi, ilgi çekici olması ve somutlaştırıcı etkisi gibi nedenler dikkat çekmektedir.

Science and technology are developing and changing every day. This development affects every field. When examining the structure of developed countries, it is seen that they are advanced in science and technology. The way to progress in these areas is through education. One of the aims of the Science course is to help individuals adapt to this changing and developing world in the best way possible. In this regard, the Science course aims to cultivate individuals who can address technological changes, think critically, possess 21st-century skills, produce solutions to problems, consider individual differences, and have research and inquiry capabilities. One of the models that can serve this purpose is the ASSURE instructional design model. The main aim of this research is to examine the effects of teaching the 'Force and Energy' unit of the 7th-grade Science course using the ASSURE model on students' academic achievement and information and technology literacy, as well as to gather students' opinions. The study employed a single-group pretest-posttest experimental design, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consisted of 20 students studying in the 7th grade at a public school. To measure the students' academic achievement, the 'Document Form on the Concepts of the Force and Energy Unit' was used, and to measure their information and technology literacy, the 'Information and Technology Literacy Skills Assessment Rubric' was administered as both pretest and posttest. To gather students' opinions, the 'Opinions on the ASSURE Model Form' was used. The results obtained from the analysis of the data showed that the teaching process conducted using the ASSURE model significantly improved the students' academic achievement and information and technology literacy and that the students expressed positive opinions about the teaching process conducted using the ASSURE model. When examining the positive opinions of the students, reasons such as the ASSURE instructional design model being fun, including different methods and techniques, being engaging, and having a concretizing effect stand out.
