Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, uzun süreli katılımın nitel veriler üzerindeki etkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu doğrultuda öğrencilerin seviyelerini tespit etmek amacıyla seviye belirleme testi, veri toplama araçları olarak da açık uçlu sorular testi ve mülakat soruları oluşturulmuştur. Özel durum çalışması yönteminin kullanıldığı araştırmada, belirlenmiş olan deney grubuna veri toplama araçlarını uygulayacak olan sınıf öğretmenleri deney grubu öğrencileri ile uzun süre ders içi ve ders dışı ortamlarda bir arada bulunarak uzun süreli katılım sürecini tamamlamıştır. Kontrol grubunun ise araştırmacı ile veri toplama araçlarının uygulanmasından önce hiçbir etkileşimde bulunmamaları sağlanmıştır. Bu sürecin etkilerini ölçmek için“Kuvvetin Etkileri”ünitesi kapsamında oluşturulmuş olan açık uçlu sorular testi ve mülakatlar deney grubuna sınıf öğretmenleri tarafından, kontrol grubuna ise araştırmacı tarafından uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular kategorize edilip çalışmada sunulmuştur. Araştırma sonuçları göstermektedir ki araştırmacının çalışma grubu için ifade ettiği anlam, araştırmacının bir yabancı veya iyi tanıdıkları biri olması, çalışma grubunun verecekleri cevapları gözle görülür biçimde etkilemektedir. Bu sonuçtan yola çıkılarak, nitel çalışmalarda araştırmacıların çalışma grubuyla araştırma öncesinde uzun süreli etkileşimde bulunmaları önerilmektedir.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of prolonged involvement on qualitative data. In this regard, a level determination test was created to determine the students' levels, and open-ended questions test and interview questions were created as data collection tools. In the research where the case study method was used, the classroom teachers who would apply the data collection tools to the determined experimental group completed the lprolonged involvement process by being together with the experimental group students in-class and out-of-class environments for a long time. The control group was provided that they had no interaction with the researcher before the implementation of the data collection tools. In order to measure the effects of this process, the open-ended questions test and interviews created within the scope of the“Effects of Force”unit were applied to the experimental group by the classroom teachers and to the control group by the researcher. Obtained results were categorized and presented in the study. The results of the research indicates that the meaning of the researcher to the study group, whether the researcher is a stranger or someone they know well, visibly affects the answers that the study group will give. According to this result, it is recommended that researchers in qualitative studies should have prolonged interaction with the study group before the research.
