Özet
Bu tezde, 1980'lerden bu yana sosyokültürel dönüşümler bağlamında, bugünün resim sanatında kent imgesinin irdelenmesi ve bu doğrultuda oluşturulmuş bir kent projesinin analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu dönemde, kapitalizmin yükselişi, gerileyen sosyalist sistem, Keynesçi politikaların terk edilmesi ve Friedman modelinin benimsenmesi gibi önemli ekonomik ve politik değişimler yaşanmıştır. Reagan ve Thatcher yönetimleri bu dönüşümler sürecinde öne çıkan isimler olmuş, 1990'larda sosyalist sistemin çöküşü ile küreselleşme kavramı ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu nedenle, küreselleşme ve sosyokültürel dönüşümlerin kent imgesine olan etkileri ve bu etkilerin sanat eserlerine nasıl yansıdığı bu tezin temel problemi olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca tezde, Modern ve Postmodern dönemlerde küreselleşme ve sosyokültürel dönüşümlerin kent imgesine olan etkilerini tespit etmek ve bu bağlamda oluşturulan kent projelerini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada yöntem olarak, literatür taraması ve eser analizi kullanılmıştır. Bunun yanında kentleşme, kentsel mekân ve kent imgeleri üzerine yapılan teorik çalışmalar incelenmiş ve bu bağlamlarda uygulama çalışmaları yapılmış ve analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler, küreselleşme sürecinin kent imgelerini radikal bir şekilde değiştirdiğini göstermektedir. Yanı sıra Fordizmden Post-Fordizme geçiş, özelleştirmeler, ulus devletlerin dağılması gibi sosyoekonomik değişikliklerin, kentsel alanlarda düzensizlik, kimlik sorunları ve tüketim kültürü gibi yeni kavramların ortaya çıkmasına neden olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan, uygulama çalışmaları üzerinden yapılan analizler sonucu elde edilen bulgulara, tezin sonuç bölümünde yer verilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, küreselleşme olgusu ve sanat ilişkisi üzerine yapılacak araştırmalar ve eser analizlerinin, sonraki çalışmalara yol göstermek adına önemli olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. Bu nedenle bu tezde, sosyokültürel dönüşümlerin kent imgesi özelinde çözümlenmesi ve anlaşılması için, daha kapsamlı çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.

This thesis aims to examine the urban image in today's painting art in the context of sociocultural transformations since the 1980s and to analyze a city project created in this direction. During this period, important economic and political changes took place, such as the rise of capitalism, the decline of the socialist system, the abandonment of Keynesian policies, and the adoption of the Friedman model. The Reagan and Thatcher administrations were prominent figures in this transformation process, and with the collapse of the socialist system in the 1990s, the concept of globalization came to the fore. For this reason, the effects of globalization and sociocultural transformations on the urban image and how these effects are reflected in works of art have been identified as the main problem of this thesis. In addition, the thesis aims to determine the effects of globalization and sociocultural transformations on the city image in the Modern and Postmodern periods and to evaluate the city projects created in this context. Literature review and work analysis were used as methods in the research. In addition, theoretical studies on urbanization, urban space, and city images have been examined, and application studies have been carried out and analyzed in these contexts. Studies show that the globalization process has radically changed city images. In addition, it has been determined that socioeconomic changes such as the transition from Fordism to Post-Fordism, privatizations, and the dissolution of nation-states have led to the emergence of new concepts such as disorder in urban areas, identity problems, and consumer culture. On the other hand, the findings obtained as a result of the analyses carried out through application studies are included in the conclusion section of the thesis. As a result, it has been evaluated that research and work analysis on the relationship between the phenomenon of globalization and art are important in guiding future studies. Therefore, in this thesis, it is recommended that more comprehensive studies be carried out to analyze and understand sociocultural transformations, specifically in the city image.
