Çalışmada %58,8'i kız, %41,2'si erkek olan çocukların yaş ortalaması 13,81 idi. Araştırma kapsamındaki çocukların %26,3'ünün tanısı tip1 DM idi. Veri toplamada Sosyo-demografik bilgi formu, Çocuklar için Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği (Ç-SDDÖ), Ergenler için Sosyal Kaygı Ölçeği (ESKÖ) ve Çocuklar için Depresyon Ölçeği (ÇDÖ) kullanıldı. Veriler SPSS 22,0 paket programında frekans analizi, standart sapma, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H testi ve basit korelasyon analizleri ile değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel analizlerde p değeri 0,05'in altında (p<0,05) anlamlı görüldü.
Since chronic illness is a process that negatively affects the child psychologically, the mental, emotional and social needs of the child should be met in order for the child to go through this process in the healthiest way. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the levels of social support perceived by children with chronic illness and their anxiety and depression. The study was planned as a descriptive-correlational study. The study included 114 chronically ill children aged 12-15 years who applied to pediatric polyclinics and clinics. The mean age of the children, 58,8% of whom were girls and 41,2% were boys, was 13,81 years. The diagnosis of 26,3% of the children in the study was type 1 DM. Socio-demographic information form, Perceived Social Support Scale for Children (PSSS), Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SASA) and Depression Scale for Children (DSC) were used for data collection. Data were evaluated by frequency analysis, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H test and simple correlation analysis in SPSS 22.0 package program. In statistical analyses, p values below 0,05 (p<0,05) were considered significant. A positive and significant correlation was found between the total score of the C-SDDQ and the total score of the ESRQ in chronically ill children (p<0,05). A positive and significant correlation was found between the AAD* sub-factor of the C-SBS and the ESCT (p<0,05). The children's score on the CDSS was above the average (25,38). According to the results of the analysis, it was found that university graduate mothers supported their children more effectively than high school graduate and primary school graduate mothers in the AAD* sub-factor of the C-SUDS. In the study, a significant difference was observed between the gender variable and the total score of the ESSAS (p<0.05). According to the results of the study, it is recommended that the chronic disease management process in the child should be positively affected by reducing stress factors with the effective use of social support systems.
