Özet

Çalışmamız diş hekimlerinde kor stabilite ile üst ekstremite performansı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacı ile planlandı. Çalışmaya en az bir yıllık mesleki deneyim sahibi olan, 23-45 yaş aralığında 30 diş hekimi dahil edildi. Gönüllülerin değerlendirmeleri çalıştıkları hastanede gerçekleştirildi. Sosyo-demografik bilgileri kaydedildikten sonra kor stabilite; McGill gövde kas endurans testleri ve çift bacak indirme testi ile, üst ekstremite performansı; üst ekstremite rotasyon testi, üst ekstremite Y-denge testi ve zamanlı fonksiyonel kol ve omuz testi ile, ağrı; ise VAS kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre diş hekimlerinin lateral köprü kas endurans testi ile üst ekstremite rotasyon testi değerleri arasında; gövde fleksör kas endurans testi ve lateral köprü kas endurans testi ile non-dominant taraf üst ekstremite Y-denge testi inferolateral yön değerleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görüldü (p<0.05). Diş hekimlerinin istirahat ağrıları ile lateral köprü kas endurans testi skorları arasında ve aktivite ağrıları ile zamanlı fonksiyonel kol ve omuz testi duvar silme bölümü skorları arasında anlamlı, negatif ilişki bulundu (p<0.05). Ayrıca, mesleki deneyim yılı ve ortalama seans süresinin kor stabilite ve üst ekstremite performansı ile ilişkili olduğu görüldü. Çalışmanın sonucunda diş hekimlerinde kor stabilite ile üst ekstremite performansı arasında ilişki olduğu bulundu. Hem istirahat, hem de aktivite ağrısının değerlendirilen parametreler üzerinde etkili olduğu görüldü. Diş hekimlerinde üst ekstremite ile ilgili sorunlarda gövde kaslarının değerlendirilmeye alınmasının önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca, diş hekimlerinin, yaralanmaları önlemek adına ergonomik önlemleri benimsemeleri gerekmektedir.

Our study was planned to examine the relationship between core stability and upper extremity performance in dentists. 30 dentists between the ages of 23 and 45, with at least one year of professional experience were included in the study. The evaluations of the volunteers were made in the hospital where they worked. After recording socio- demographic information, core stability was assessed with McGill trunk muscle endurance tests and double leg lowering test, upper extremity performance was assessed with upper limb rotation test, upper quarter Y-balance test and timed functional arm and shoulder test, and the pain was assessed using VAS. According to the results of the study, there was a significant relationship between lateral bridge muscle endurance test and upper limb rotation test values; trunk flexor muscle endurance test, lateral bridge muscle endurance test and non-dominant side upper quarter Y-balance test inferolateral direction values (p<0.05). A significant, negative correlation was found between dentists' resting pain and lateral bridge muscle endurance scores, and between activity pain and timed functional arm and shoulder test wall wash section scores (p<0.05). Additonally, years of professional experience and average session duration were found to be related to core stability and upper extremity performance. As a result of the study, it was found that there was a relationship between core stability and upper extremity performance in dentists. It was observed that both rest and activity pain had an impact on the evaluated parameters. It is thought that it is important for dentists to evaluate the trunk muscles in cases of upper extremity-related problems. Additionally, dentists need to adopt ergonomic measures to prevent injuries.
