Özet

Bu çalışmada, genel anlamıyla müzikoloji çatısı altında, detayda ise makam müziği özelinde faaliyet göstermesi planlanan, çağdaş, üçüncü nesil üniversite ve açık bilim konseptlerine uygun, akademik bir veri tabanı ve sosyal medya platformu önerisi sunulmuştur. Bu bağlamda bir bilim dalı olarak müzikoloji disiplininin, bir iletişim unsuru olarak medyanın ve akademinin kurumsallaşması olarak ifade edilen üniversite kurumunun doğuşu ve tarihsel süreçlerini takiben günümüze gelene kadar geçirdiği evreler incelenerek, güncel olarak kullanılmakta olan çeşitli akademik medya uygulamalarından örnek modeller doğrultusunda, makam müziği kapsamında sistematik müzikoloji çatısı altında yer alan ve alabilecek tüm çalışmaları kapsayabilecek, akademisyen ve profesyonel araştırmacılar öncelikli olmak üzere her seviyeden ilgiliye hizmet etmek suretiyle alana katkı sağlamayı amaç edinmiş, çağdaş bileşenleri barındıran ve geleceğe yönelik potansiyel taşıyan web tabanlı bir arşiv ve medya platformu tasarımı ve kodlaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma, müzikolojinin gelişim süreci ve bu süreçteki toplulukların rolleri ile tasarıma model alınan çağdaş uygulamalar doğrultusunda kodlanan web tabanlı platformun, mevcut modellerden farklılıkları, fonksiyonları ve işleyişinin açıklanmasını kapsamaktadır. Literatür taraması ile elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda, müzikolojinin tarihten günümüze geçirdiği süreç, bu süreçte müzikoloji topluluklarının rolü ve güncel akademik medya uygulamalarından örnekler açıklanarak, çalışmaya konu olan platforma dair kapsamlı bir anlayış oluşturulması hedeflenmiştir. Özellikle“Akademik Medya Uygulamaları”başlığı altında, çalışmaya örnek teşkil eden modellere dair, literatür taramasında ulaşılan tüm kaynakların benzer ve ayrışan görüşlerine yer verilerek bir literatür tartışması sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Metinde öncelikli olarak çalışmanın ana eksenini oluşturan müzikoloji disiplininin tarihsel süreçten günümüze kadar olan gelişimine yer verilerek genel bir tanım yapılmakta ve kapsamlı bir bakış açısı sunulması amacıyla yazar tarafından içeriğin dört temel yapıtaşından ilki olarak değerlendirilen bu disiplin tanıtılmaktadır. Aynı amaçla bir iletişim unsuru olarak medyanın antikiteden günümüze geçirdiği evrim ve bilgi paylaşımının önemine vurgu yapılarak aradaki simbiyoz ilişkisine dikkat çekilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bahsedilen bu iki başlık kapsamında tarihsel sürece dair bir bilgilendirmeyi takiben, akademik çabanın kurumsallaşmış hali olarak tanımlayabileceğimiz“üniversite”kurumunun meydana gelişinden bugüne kadar sınıflandırıldığı üç farklı temel evresi ve üçüncü nesil kavramının genel çerçevesini oluşturan temel bileşenleri açıklanmakta ve günümüzde aktif olarak kullanılan çağdaş akademik medya uygulamalarından çeşitli örnekler hakkında bilgiler verilerek, içeriğin dört temel yapı taşı olarak konumlandırılan unsurlar tamamlanmakta ve yazarın perspektifine dair kapsamlı bir bakış açısı oluşturulması hedeflenmektedir. Tasarıma konu olan platformun amacı;“Makam Müziği”özelinde bir görsel ve işitsel veri tabanı oluşturarak akademik araştırmalar için güvenilir bir kaynak sunmaktır. Çağımızın bir gerekliliği olan dijital arşiv konsepti ile Academia, ResearchGate ve benzerleri gibi bir akademik sosyal ağ modelinin birleşiminden oluşacak bir platformun, araştırmacılara daha fazla görünürlük ve işbirliği olanakları da sunacağı öngörülmektedir. Çalışma; eserlerin uzmanları tarafından teyit edilmiş, yazılı, görsel ve işitsel kayıtlarına toplu halde ulaşılabilmesi açısından“Makam Müziği”başta olmak üzere tüm etnik, mikrotonal, modal ve tarihi müzik araştırmacılarının faydalanabileceği bir platform tasarımı gerçekleştirmeyi amaçlar. Platformda yer alacak çalışmaların incelenmesi ile alanda yapılan çalışmalara dair istatistiksel veriler oluşturularak, akademik bağlamda“Makam Müziği”çalışmalarının dönemsel ve güncel yönelimlerini doğru şekilde tespit etmek de mümkün olabilecektir. Platform, İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Lisansüstü Eğitim Ve Öğretim Yönetmeliği'nin 16. Maddesi“c”bendinde,“bilinen bir yöntemi yeni bir alana uygulama”kapsamında,“ResearchGate”akademik paylaşım platformu modeli örnek alınarak tasarlanmıştır. Son olarak sunulan bu bilgiler doğrultusunda, tez çalışmasının odağı olan ve temel çalışma alanını oluşturan makam müziği özelinde, uluslararası düzeyde faaliyet gösterme potansiyeli barındıran, akademisyen ve profesyonel araştırmacılar ile birlikte her seviyeden ilgilinin, doğru, kaliteli ve rafine bilgiye erişimini kolaylaştırarak alana katkıda bulunmayı amaç edinmiş web tabanlı bir arşiv ve medya platformu tasarımı önerisi getirilmekte ve çalışmaya konu olan bu tasarımın temel fonksiyonlarının ve bileşenlerinin tanıtımı yapılarak sonuca varılmaktadır.

In this study, an academic database and social media platform proposal, which is planned to operate under the umbrella of musicology in general and maqam music in detail, suitable for contemporary, third generation university and open science concepts, is presented. In this context, following the birth and historical processes of the discipline of musicology as a science, the media as a communication element and the institutionalization of the academy, the stages it went through until today were examined, in line with the sample models from various academic media applications that are currently used, within the scope of maqam music. Design of a web-based archive and media platform with contemporary components and potential for the future, which can cover all studies under the roof of systematic musicology in the field, aiming to contribute to the field by serving all levels of interest, primarily academics and professional researchers. The study covers the explanation of the differences, contents and functioning of the web-based platform, which is coded in line with the development process of musicology and the roles of the communities in this process, and contemporary applications taken as a model for the design. In line with the information obtained through the literature review, it is aimed to create a comprehensive understanding of the platform that is the subject of the study by explaining the process of musicology from history to the present, the role of musicology societies in this process and examples from current academic media applications. In particular, under the title of“Academic Media Practices”, it is aimed to present a literature discussion by including the similar and divergent views of all sources reached in the literature review regarding the models that set an example for the study. In the text, a general definition is made by including the development of the discipline of musicology, which is the main axis of the study, from the historical process to the present, and this discipline, which is considered as the first of the four basic building blocks of the content by the author, is introduced in order to present a comprehensive perspective. For the same purpose, it is aimed to draw attention to the symbiosis relationship between the media as a communication element by emphasizing the importance of the evolution and information sharing from antiquity to the present. Following a briefing on the historical process within the scope of these two titles, three different basic phases in which the“university”institution, which we can define as the institutionalized state of academic effort, has been classified since its formation and the basic components that form the general framework of the third generation concept, are explained and one of the contemporary academic media applications that are actively used today. By giving information about various examples, the elements that are positioned as the four basic building blocks of the content are completed and it is aimed to create a comprehensive perspective on the author's perspective. The purpose of the platform, which is the subject of the design; To provide a reliable source for academic research by creating a visual and auditory database specific to“Maqam Music”. It is predicted that a platform that will combine the digital archive concept, which is a necessity of our age, and an academic social network model such as Academia, ResearchGate and the like, will also offer researchers more visibility and collaboration opportunities. Study; It aims to design a platform that can be used by all ethnic, microtonal, modal and historical music researchers, especially“Maqam Music”, in order to access the written, visual and auditory records of the works that have been confirmed by the experts. By examining the studies to be included in the platform, it will be possible to accurately determine the periodical and current trends of“Maqam Music”studies in the academic context, by creating statistical data on the studies carried out in the field. The platform has been designed by taking the model of“ResearchGate”academic sharing platform as an example, within the scope of“applying a known method to a new field”in clause“c”of Article 16 of the Regulation on Graduate Education and Training of Istanbul Technical University. Finally, in line with this information presented, it is aimed to contribute to the field by facilitating access to accurate, quality and refined information for academicians and professional researchers, as well as academicians and professional researchers, which has the potential to operate at an international level, in particular maqam music, which is the focus of the thesis and constitutes the main field of study. A web-based archive and media platform design proposal is brought forward and the conclusion is reached by introducing the basic functions and components of this design, which is the subject of the study. Emphasizing the development, importance and necessity of digitalization is now just a well-known announcement, as technology has increased its impact in all areas of life at irreversible levels. In this transformation, information and information resources have also become more accessible and maintainable by digitalization, and they are coming. For generations living in the internet age, trying to reach information physically instead of accessing it from digital media has become no different than trying to reach a book that was reproduced by serial printing as a manuscript of its author. This paradigm shift has necessitated the transfer of all archives and resources to digital media, especially academic, official and civil institutions that have the highest prestige in the global sense. Another paradigm change brought about by the age has been in the field of communication and it is noticed by everyone today. Social networks have become the main communication tool of our age and their impact on the lives of individuals is increasing day by day. Today, academic archival studies carried out in almost every field make you feel the lack of“modal music”. A database to be created in this field will protect our musical tradition, which offers unique riches, for future generations, while making reliable and clean information more accessible for researchers from all levels, as well as contributing to interprofessional communication by creating a social network specific to the field. Accessibility, reliability, communication and visibility can be listed among the anticipated gains of the proposed proposal. The possibility of accessing studies in the field of maqam music through a single source will make it easier for researchers to conduct comprehensive studies. While highlighting correct information with approved content, it is aimed to prevent information pollution with questionable content. While providing greater visibility by bringing researchers together with their colleagues in their fields, it offers collaboration opportunities such as sharing ideas, collaborating and organizing academic events.
