Özet
Oyunlarla gerçekleştirilen öğretim etkinliklerinin çocuklarda olumlu etki yarattığı ve daha iyi bir öğrenme ortamı oluşturduğu bilinmektedir. Bu araştırmada ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerine 'Maddenin Özellikleri' ünitesinin 'Maddeyi Niteleyen Özellikler' konusuna yönelik tasarlanan eğitsel oyununun öğrencilerin kavramsal gelişimine etkisi ve oyunun uygulanabilirliğine yönelik öğretmen görüşlerini ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırmada 'Basit Deneysel Yöntem' kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kavramsal anlama testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakattan yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından çalışma grubuna kavramsal anlama testi öğretim öncesi uygulanmış ve eğitsel oyun ile öğretim süreci tamamlandıktan sonra son test olarak uygulanmıştır. İlgili konuya yönelik tasarlanan oyunla ilgili öğretmen görüşü ve öğretim sürecine etkisinin tespiti adına öğretmene yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu uygulanmıştır. Kavramsal anlama testindeki açık uçlu soruların analizinde Abraham ve diğerleri (1992) tarafından geliştirilen anlama seviyesi kategorileri, kavramsal anlama testinde yer alan yapılandırılmış grid sorularının analizinde, cevaplarının puanlamasında alan yazında (Bahar, Öztürk, & Ateş, 2002; D. Yeşilyurt & Önel, 2017) yer alan formül kullanılmıştır. Mülakat sorularının analizinde betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. It is known that instructional activities conducted through games create a positive impact on children and foster a better learning environment. The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of the educational game designed for the 4th grade primary school students on the subject of 'Properties Characterizing Matter' of the 'Properties of Matter' unit on the conceptual development of the students and the teachers' opinions on the applicability of the game. The“Pre Experimental Method”was employed in this research. Data collection tools included a conceptual understanding test and semi-structured interviews. The conceptual understanding test was administered to the study group before instruction and again as a post-test after the educational games were integrated into the teaching process. To determine the impact of the game on the teaching process and gather teacher opinions, a semi-structured interview form was used. For the analysis of open-ended questions in the conceptual understanding test, understanding level categories developed by Abraham et al. (1992) were utilized. The analysis of structured grid questions in the conceptual understanding test was conducted using a scoring formula found in the literature (Bahar, Öztürk, & Ateş, 2002; Yeşilyurt & Önel, 2017).
