Özet
We study the N = 1 effective target space modular invariant supergravity action and investigate its relation to the Swampland conjectures. We find that the scalar potential and gravitino mass associated to this model exhibits divergences and zeroes that depend on the choice of the modular invariant function H(T). This modular invariant function can be chosen in two different ways. The first choice is that the H(T) function does not have any poles or singularities inside the fundamental domain. The second choice corresponds to an H(T) function which can have singularities or poles inside the fundamental domain. Different choices of H(T) lead to different features in the scalar potential and gravitino mass. We test the Swampland Distance Conjecture and the Gravitino Mass Conjecture for these different H(T) functions and confirm their validity. Target space duality plays an important role both in constraining the superpotential in the supergravity action and in testing the conjectures. We observe that the infinite distance limit obstruction is satisfied in both cases of H(T), as Kaluza-Klein states become massless. Since we have an effective description, which is an effective description of a compactified string theory, an infinite number of massless states would signal the breakdown of the theory. For certain types of H(T) functions, the gravitino mass vanishes at finite points in the moduli space. The Gravitino Mass Conjecture predicts a tower of states to become light at these finite points since the gravitino mass vanishes at these limits. We examine the states that are becoming massless at these finite points and we find how they contribute to the threshold effect.
