Özet
Bu araştırmada okuma çemberi tekniğinin ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonuna etkisini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı deneysel desen kullanılarak yürütülen bu çalışmada ön test-son test kontrol gruplu model uygulanmıştır. Araştırma, 2023-2024 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Şanlıurfa ilindeki bir ilkokulda sürdürülmüştür. Çalışmaya ilkokul 4. sınıfta eğitim-öğretime devam eden öğrenciler katılmıştır. Bu öğrencilerden deney grubunda yer alanlar ile okuma çemberi oturumları gerçekleştirilmiş ve öğrencilerin metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonları incelenmiştir. Kontrol grubu öğrencileriyle okuma çemberi oturumları gerçekleştirilmeden sadece belirlenen kitaplar okutulmuştur. Çalışma süreci toplamda 6 hafta sürmüş ve öğrencilerle 3 okuma çemberi oturumu tamamlanmıştır. Katılımcıların metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonları uygulanan ölçekten ortaya çıkan verilerle belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonları yüksek düzeyde bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda bulgulara bakıldığında okuma çemberi tekniği uygulanan deney grubu ve kontrol grubunun okuma motivasyonlarında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı görülürken, deney grubu ve kontrol grubunun son test puanları arasında metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonu ölçeğinin bazı alt faktörlerine göre anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Ayrıca deney grubu öğrencilerinin okuma motivasyonları son test puanlarına göre öğrencilerinin metinlere yönelik okuma motivasyonlarının“okuma zorluğunun algılanması”alt faktöründe yükseldiği, diğer alt faktörlerde ve toplam puanda ise değişiklik olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of the reading circle technique on the reading motivation of 4th grade primary school students towards texts. In this study, which was conducted using a quasi-experimental design from quantitative research methods, a pretest-posttest control group model was applied. The research was conducted in a primary school in Şanlıurfa province in the 2023-2024 academic year. Students in the 4th grade of primary school participated in the study. Reading circle sessions were conducted with the students in the experimental group and students' reading motivation towards texts was examined. With the control group students, only the specified books were read without reading circle sessions. The study period lasted 6 weeks in total and 3 reading circle sessions were completed with the students. The participants' reading motivations towards the texts were determined with the data obtained from the scale applied. The participants' reading motivation towards the texts was found to be at a high level. As a result of the research, it was seen that there was no significant difference in the reading motivation of the experimental group and the control group in which the reading circle technique was applied, while a significant difference was found between the post-test scores of the experimental group and the control group according to some sub-factors of the reading motivation scale for texts. In addition, according to the post-test scores of the experimental group students' reading motivation, it was found that the students' reading motivation towards texts was“reading difficulties”.
