The mushroom management approach causes negative feelings such as loss of trust and cynicism in employees as a result of managers depriving employees of information sharing and keeping them under excessive control; this situation can trigger procrastination behaviors. This study aims to reveal the effect of the mushroom management approach on employees' procrastination behaviors and the mediating role of organizational cynicism in this effect process. The research universe consist of public and private sector employees' working in Kırıkkale province. 517 online and printed surveys were conducted and the obtained data were analyzed using IBM SPSS and AMOS statistical package programs. As a result of the findings obtained, it was determined that the mushroom management approach has a positive and significant effect on the affective, cognitive and behavioral dimensions of organizational cynicism. While the effect of the mushroom management approach on the distraction dimension of procrastination behavior in the workplace is positive and significant; it was observed that its effect on the cyberloafing dimension is low and statistically insignificant within the framework of the relevant model. It is observed that the affective and behavioral dimensions of organizational cynicism have a positive and significant effect on both the distraction and cyberloafing dimensions of procrastination behavior in the workplace. It was found that the effect of the cognitive dimension of organizational cynicism on both the distraction and cyberloafing dimensions of procrastination behavior at work was not statistically significant. It was found that organizational cynicism had a mediating role in the effect of the mushroom management approach on both the distraction and cyberloafing dimensions of procrastination behavior at work. Since the mushroom management approach has a linear effect on procrastination behavior at work in the context of the relevant model, it is possible to talk about the partial mediating role of organizational cynicism here.
