Globalization is an important process that affects the consumption of products and services worldwide by eliminating economic, cultural and technological boundaries. In this process, various negativities occur as a result of increasing consumption due to the changing world conditions. This situation necessitates changes in the lifestyle of the society. Rapidly depleting natural resources and changing climate conditions cause serious concerns in individuals for both themselves and future generations. These concerns create a significant change in consumers¶ preferences for sustainable products and services. In this context, the concepts of energy consumption and sustainability are also gaining more and more importance. Green energy, an important component of sustainability; refers to energy obtained from environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources and offers solutions to environmental problems such as global warming and climate change. This thesis aims to examine green energy from the perspective of women consumers in the globalizing world. In this context, first, a conceptual framework was created regarding the concept of energy, green energy, green product, green marketing and green consumer. The focus of the research is the attitudes, awareness levels, preferences and purchasing behaviors of women consumers towards green energy. The research evaluates the knowledge levels of female consumers about green energy as well as their perceptions about the environmental and economic benefits of green energy. Within the scope of the thesis, data was collected using quantitative research methods. The data obtained through online and face-to-face surveys conducted with women over the age of 18 played an important role in understanding the attitudes of female consumers towards green energy. When the demographic characteristics of female consumers participating in the survey were examined, various variables such as age groups, monthly income levels, marital status, number of children, education levels and occupations were taken into consideration. The research results show that female consumers generally have a positive view of green energy and want to contribute to environmental sustainability. However, it was also determined that there are some obstacles regarding the price factor and access to green energy. The importance of educational campaigns and incentive policies was emphasized in order to increase the interest of female consumers in green energy and to raise awareness (Zero waste, Recycle etc.) in this area. This study aims to encourage female consumers to play a more active and conscious role in the transition to green energy.
