Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Exergame ve Ayres Duyu Bütünleme temelli ergoterapi müdahalelerinin Down Sendromlu bireylerde motor beceri ve sosyal uyum üzerindeki etkilerini ve bu etkilerin kalıcılığını incelemektir. Çalışmaya, yaşları 7-12 arasında değişen toplam 15 katılımcı dahil edilmiştir. Katılımcılar, Exergame grubu (n=5), Ayres Duyu Bütünleme grubu (n=5) ve kontrol grubu (n=5) olarak gruplara ayrılmıştır. Exergame grubuna Exergame müdahalesi, Ayres Duyu Bütünleme grubuna Ayres Duyu Bütünleme müdahalesi uygulanırken, kontrol grubuna herhangi bir müdahale yapılmamıştır. Müdahaleler haftada 3 gün 8 hafta boyunca devam etmiştir. Veri toplama sürecinde katılımcıların ailelerinden gönüllü olur formu alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu, Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Yeterlik Testi Kısa Formu, Sosyal Uyum ve Beceri Ölçeği ile Duyusal İşlemleme Formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler müdahale öncesini (ön test), müdahale sürecini (ara test), müdahale sonrasını (son test) ve belirlenen takip dönemlerini (1. ve 2. kalıcılık testleri) içeren 5 farklı zamanda toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizleri için tekrarlanan ölçümler çift yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar, Exergame ve Ayres Duyu Bütünleme müdahalelerinin motor beceri ve sosyal beceri gelişiminde anlamlı iyileşmelere yol açtığını göstermiştir. İnce motor kontrol, el koordinasyonu, vücut koordinasyonu ve kuvvet-çeviklik alanlarında Exergame ve Ayres Duyu Bütünleme gruplarında kontrol grubuna kıyasla anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Müdahale süreci boyunca exergame müdahalesinin etkisi daha belirgin olarak gözlenirken müdahale sonrası dönemde Ayres duyu bütünleme müdahalesinin daha uzun süre etkisinin devam ettiği görülmüştür. Gelecekteki araştırmalar için her iki müdahalenin eş zamanlı uygulandığı araştırmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of Exergame and Ayres Sensory Integration-based occupational therapy interventions on motor skills and social adaptation in individuals with Down syndrome, as well as the retention of these effects. A total of 15 participants, aged between 7 and 12 years, were included in the study. Participants were divided into three groups: the Exergame group (n=5), the Ayres Sensory Integration group (n=5), and the control group (n=5). While the Exergame group received Exergame intervention and the Ayres Sensory Integration group received Ayres Sensory Integration intervention, no intervention was applied to the control group. The interventions were conducted three times a week for a duration of eight weeks. In the data collection process, informed consent forms were obtained from the participants' families. The data collection instruments included a personal information form, the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Short Form, the Social Adaptation and Skills Scale, and the Sensory Processing Measure. Data were collected at five different time points: pre-intervention (pre-test), during the intervention (mid-test), post-intervention (post-test), and at designated follow-up periods (first and second retention tests). For data analysis, repeated measures two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed. The results indicated that Exergame and Ayres Sensory Integration interventions led to significant improvements in motor skills and social skills development. Significant differences were observed in fine motor control, hand coordination, body coordination, and strength-agility domains in the Exergame and Ayres Sensory Integration groups compared to the control group. While the effects of the Exergame intervention were more pronounced during the intervention process, the effects of the Ayres Sensory Integration intervention were observed to persist for a longer period post-intervention. For future research, it is recommended to conduct studies in which both interventions are applied simultaneously.
