Özet
Giriş ve Amaç: Erektil disfonksiyon; cinsel birleşme için yeterli ereksiyonu elde edememe veya sürdürememe durumu ve uyarılma evresinde yetersizlik ile tekrarlayıcı başarısızlık durumu olarak tanımlanır. Ön planda solunum sistemi bulgularıyla seyreden Covid-19'un erektil disfonksiyon, depresyon ve diğer sistemlerle ilişkili hastalıklara da yol açtığı bildirilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı erektil disfonksiyon ile psikolojik depresyon durumu, Covid-19 testleri, FSH, LH, prolaktin, testosteron hormon düzeyleri değerlendirilerek Covid-19 ile erektil disfonksiyon arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Akdeniz Üniversitesi Hastanesi Üroloji polikliniğine 01.01.2021 ile 01.01.2022 tarihleri arasında başvuran FSH, LH, prolaktin, total testosteron, Covid-19 RT-PCR sonucu, IIEF ve BDI skorları bilinen 153 hasta retrospektif olarak hastane bilgi yönetim sisteminden alınarak değerlendirildi. Bulgular: IIEF ve BDI skorları arasında ters yönlü korelasyon olduğu, total testosteron değerinin erektil disfonksiyonu göstermede anlamlı etkisi olduğu, Covid-19 RT-PCR pozitif hasta grubunda erektil disfonksiyonun daha fazla görüldüğü ve total testosteron değerlerinin daha yüksek olduğu görüldü. Sonuç: Covid-19 geçirmiş hastalarda daha fazla erektil disfonksiyon ve daha düşük total testosteron değerleri görülmesi sebebi ile Covid-19 enfeksiyonu öyküsünün göz önünde bulundurulması erektil disfonksiyon tanı ve yönetim sürecine katkı sağlayacaktır.

Introduction: Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain sufficient erection for sexual intercourse, accompanied by inadequacy in the arousal phase and a recurring pattern of failure. COVID-19, primarily presenting with respiratory symptoms, has been reported to lead to erectile dysfunction, depression, and other diseases associated with various systems. The aim of this study is to elucidate the relationship between COVID-19 and erectile dysfunction by evaluating psychological depression status, COVID-19 tests, FSH, LH, prolactin, and testosterone hormone levels. Materials and Methods: A total of 153 patients who presented to the Urology outpatient clinic of Akdeniz University Hospital between January 1, 2021, and January 1, 2022, with known FSH, LH, prolactin, total testosterone, COVID-19 RT-PCR results, IIEF, and BDI scores were retrospectively evaluated by extracting data from the hospital information management system. Results: There was an inverse correlation between IIEF and BDI scores, significant impact of total testosterone levels on indicating erectile dysfunction, a higher prevalence of erectile dysfunction in the COVID-19 RT-PCR positive patient group, and higher total testosterone levels. Conclusion: Given the increased occurrence of erectile dysfunction and reduced total testosterone levels observed in individuals with a history of COVID-19 infection, it is imperative to consider COVID-19 infection history in the diagnosis and management of erectile dysfunction, thereby facilitating improved patient care and outcomes.
