- 130 - ÖZET Bu araştırmanın amacı, Harran ovasında yaygın olan 6 farklı toprak serisinde, değişebilir sodyum oranı Akçakale > Cepkeni i > Harran > Sırrın > Kısas şeklindedir. Bu sıralamadan da görülebileceği gibi, benzer koşullar altında, kimyasal bakımdan alkalileşme olasılığı Gürgelen serisinde en yüksek, Kısas serisinde ise en düşüktür.

- 133 - SUMMARY The aim of this research was to determine, experimentally, the mathematical relationships between the exchangeable sodium ratio (ESR) and the sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) at four different total salt concentrations on six different soil series which are widespread in the Harran Plain and to determine alkalinization tendencies of these soils by using coefficiens (Gapon) of the obtained relationships. Disturbed soil samples, collected from two surface horizons of Akçakale, Cepkenli, Gürgelen, Harran, Kısas and Sırrın soil series which comprise about % 60 of the research area, were used as the experimental material. In addition, 24 different solutions (original solutions) were prepared by using HaCl and CaCl2 salts, at four total salt concentrations (100, 200, 300 and 500 me/1) and six SAS values (5, 15, 25, 40, 60 and 80), in order to determine ESR-SAR relationships on the experimental soils. Sieved (0.5 mm) soil samples were equilibrated with original solutions three times and equilibrium solutions were collected in plastic bottles. Then, equilibrated soil samples were extracted three times with 1 H amonium acetate solution and extracts were saved for analyses. All treatments were replicated three times. At the end of the experiment, equilibrium solutions were analysed for 5a and Ca to calculate SAS values and extracts were analysed for Ha to calculate ESR values. The relationships between the calculated ESR and SAR values at four different salt solutions were examined by linear regression analyses upon which four different regression equations were calculated for each horizons. Hext, all ESR and SAR values were calculated at four salt concentrations were pooled and a single regression equation was calculated for each of the- 134 - horizons. In addition, soil samples were analysed for pH, total soluble salts, cation exchange capacity, exchangeable cations, lime, organic matter and particle size distribution. While concentrations of Ha in original solutions and equilibrium solutions were similar, those of Ca were consistently higher in the equilibrium solutions. Differences between Ca concentration of equilibrium and original solutions were reduced as the total salt concentration was increased experimentally. Similarly, The SAR values of equilibrium solutions, in general, were smaller than those of original solutions. Adsorbed sodium and, in turn, the ESS values increased at any given salt concentration as SAR values of equilibrium solutions increased; but, they decreased as the salt concentration of equilibrium solutions, increased at a given constant SAR values. The Gapon coefficients Akçakale > Cepkeni i > Harran >' Sırrın > Kısas, solely on the basis of their chemical properties.
