Özet
Bu araştırmada 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında okutulan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında yer alan gazete ve genel ağ haberlerinin incelenerek değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman inceleme modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın veri kaynağını Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında okutulan toplamda 7 ders kitabı oluşturmaktadır. Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu tarafından onaylanmış 4., 5., 6. ve 7. sınıflarda okutulmakta olan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarına Eğitim Bilişim Ağı [EBA] üzerinden erişim sağlanmıştır. Doküman analizi yöntemi ile toplanan veriler içerik analizi ile değerlendirilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda 293 haber tespit edilmiştir. Bu haberlerin 166'sının genel ağ haberi, 27'sinin gazete haberi olduğu belirlenmiştir. 5. Sınıf Ata Yayıncılık Sosyal Bilgiler Ders Kitabında, haber kaynakları“Gazete Haberleri”ve“Genel Ağ Haberleri”olarak iki kategoriye ayrılmıştır.“Gazete Haberleri”kategorisinde yer alan kaynakların dijital haber sitelerinden alındığı görülmüştür. Ders kitabında“Gazete Haberleri”kategorisinde yer aldığı için bu haberler gazete haberi olarak kabul edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında özellikle gazete haberlerine kıyasla genel ağ haberlerine daha fazla yer verildiği; öğrenme alanı dağılımlarında homojenliğe dikkat edilmediği; yıllara göre dağılım incelendiğinde 2017 ve 2018 yıllarına ait haberlerin çoğunlukta olduğu; buna karşın 2022 ve 2023 gibi daha güncel haberlere çok fazla yer verilmediği; görsel kullanımında 5. ve 7. ders kitaplarında içerik geliştirilmesine ihtiyaç duyulduğu, özellikle 4. sınıfta daha fazla habere yer verilmesinin gerektiği; tüm kademelerde haberlere ilişkin kaynakçanın daha özenli hazırlanması gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Özellikle kaynakça kısmında eksikliklerin giderilmesi için güncel kaynakların kontrol edilmesi ve erişilemeyen haberlerin çıkarılması gerektiği görülmüştür. MEB ve özel yayınevleri tarafından basılan 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf kitapları kendi aralarında karşılaştırıldığında ise özel yayınevi kitaplarının gazete ve genel ağ haberleri içeriği açısından daha zengin ve doğru kaynaklara sahip oldukları, bu nedenle de MEB Yayınlarının geliştirilmesi gerektiği belirlenmiştir. Haber kaynaklarının piktogramına ilişkin yapılan incelemede özellikle 6. sınıf ders kitaplarında oldukça tutarlı ve görsel açıdan da belirlenen kriterlerin sağlandığı ve okuyucuyu tarafından da kolay algılanabilir piktograma yer verildiği belirlenmiştir. Ancak diğer kademelerde eksiklikler göze çarpmıştır ve bu bağlamda piktogram kullanımının ders kitaplarında geliştirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. 4., 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında gazete ve genel ağ haberlerinin orijinallik ve düzenleme durumları incelendiklerinde, genel olarak haberlerin orijinallerinin yerine haberlerin düzenlenerek kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Son olarak 4., 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında gazete ve genel ağ haberlerinin konularına göre dağılımı incelendiğinde gazete ve genel ağ haberlerinin 30 farklı konudan oluştuğu belirlenmiştir.“Haklarımız- Çocuk Hakları”konusunda 22 gazete ve genel ağ haberine yer verilirken,“Sorumluluklarımız”“Ulaşım”ve“Meslekler”konularından birer gazete ve genel ağ haberine yer verildiği görülmüştür.

In this research, it was aimed to examine and evaluate the newspaper and public network news in the social studies textbooks taught in the 2023-2024 academic year. The document review model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The data source of this research consists of a total of 7 textbooks taught by the Ministry of National Education in the 2023-2024 academic year. Social studies textbooks approved by the Ministry of National Education, Board of Education and Discipline, and taught in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades were accessed via the Education Information Network [EBA]. The data collected by the document analysis method was evaluated and interpreted by content analysis. As a result of the research, 293 news items were identified. It was determined that 166 of these news were general network news and 27 were newspaper news. In the 5th Grade Ata Publishing Social Studies Textbook, news sources are divided into two categories:“Newspaper News”and“General Network News”. It was observed that the sources in the“Newspaper News”category were taken from digital news sites. These news were accepted as newspaper news because they were included in the“Newspaper News”category in the textbook. According to the results obtained, social studies textbooks give more space to general network news, especially compared to newspaper news; Homogeneity was not taken into consideration in the distribution of learning areas; When the distribution by years is examined, the majority of the news is from 2017 and 2018; However, more current news such as 2022 and 2023 are not included much; There is a need to develop content in the 5th and 7th textbooks regarding the use of visuals, and more news should be included, especially in the 4th grade; It was concluded that the bibliography of news at all levels should be prepared more carefully. It has been observed that current sources should be checked and inaccessible news should be removed, especially in order to eliminate deficiencies in the bibliography section. When the 5th, 6th and 7th grade books published by the Ministry of Education and private publishing houses are compared among themselves, it has been determined that the books of the private publishing houses have richer and more accurate sources in terms of newspaper and general network news content, and therefore MEB Publications should be developed. In the examination of the pictogram of news sources, it was determined that especially in the 6th grade textbooks, the criteria were met in a very consistent and visual way, and the pictogram was included that could be easily perceived by the reader. However, deficiencies were noted at other levels and in this context, it was concluded that the use of pictograms should be improved in textbooks. When the originality and editing status of newspaper and public network news in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies textbooks were examined, it was determined that the news was generally used by editing instead of the original news. Finally, when the distribution of newspaper and public network news according to their topics in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies textbooks was examined, it was determined that newspaper and public network news consisted of 30 different topics. While 22 newspaper and web news were included on the subject of“Our Rights - Children's Rights”, it was observed that one newspaper and web news was included on the topics of“Our Responsibilities”,“Transportation”and“Professions”.
