Özet
Antakya, yüzyıllar boyunca birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış çok katmanlı bir kenttir. Kent; ilmi, dini ve kültürel bir merkez olmasının yanı sıra önemli ticaret yolları üzerinde bulunması, kentteki üretim yoğunluğu ile ekonomik olarak da döneminin önemli kentleri arasında olmuştur. Bu ticaret yolları yıllar içerisinde kentin ticaret hacmini arttırmış; bu sayede kentte üretim haneler, çarşı ve pazarlar, ticaret yapıları oluşmuştur. Bu yapılar günümüzde mimari değerlerine ek olarak dönemin geleneksel üretim, satış pratiği ve ticaret hayatına dair verdiği bilgilerle korunmaya değer bir doku oluşturmaktadır. 6 ve 20 Şubat'ta alanı oldukça ağır etkileyen depremler meydana gelmiştir. Meydana gelen bu depremler, kentin geri kalanı gibi tarihi kent merkezini de geniş çapta etkilemiştir. Tarihi kent merkezinde etkilenen alanlardan biri de tarihi ticari merkez olmuştur. 6 Şubat depremleri sadece toplumu ve yapılı çevreyi değil; toplum hafızasını yansıtan somut olmayan kültür mirasını da tahrip etmiştir. Bu çalışma ile Antakya Tarihi Ticari Merkezinin; deprem öncesi durumu, değerleri ve koruma sorunları ortaya konulmuş, depremden etkilenen kültür mirasının hasar durumu, ilk yardım süreci ve müdahaleler tespit edilerek belgelenmiş, deprem sonrasında alanda uygulanan koruma çalışmaları ortaya konulmuştur. Deprem öncesi ve sonrasında alanın koruma problemleri ele alınarak alan için öneriler geliştirilmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasının Antakya tarihi ticari merkezinin geleceği için kaynak oluşturması ve kültür varlıklarının korunmasına katkı sağlanması beklenmektedir.

Antakya is a multi-layered city that has hosted many civilizations for centuries. In addition to being a scientific, religious and cultural center, the city has also been among the important cities of its time economically with its location on important trade routes and the density of production in the city. These trade routes have increased the city's trade capacity over the years; thus, production facilities, bazaars and markets, and commercial structures have emerged in the city. In addition to their architectural values, these structures today form a texture worth preserving with the information they provide about the traditional production, sales practices and trade life of the period. Earthquakes that affected the area quite severely occurred on February 6 and 20, in 2023. These earthquakes, as in the rest of the city, affected the historical city center to a large extent. One of the areas affected in the historical city center was the historical commercial center. The February 6 earthquakes destroyed not only the society and the built environment; they also destroyed the intangible cultural heritage reflecting the social memory. With this study, it was aimed to examine the Antakya Historical Commercial Center; the pre-earthquake situation, values and conservation problems were revealed, the damage status of the cultural heritage affected by the earthquake, the first aid process and interventions were identified and documented, and the conservation works implemented in the area after the earthquake were revealed. It was aimed to develop suggestions for the area by addressing the conservation problems of the area before and after the earthquake. It is expected that this thesis will create a resource for the future of the Antakya Historical Commercial Center and contribute to the conservation of cultural assets.
