Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul Fen Bilimleri dersi kapsamında yer alan Vücudumuzdaki Sistemler ve Sağlığı ünitesinin öğretiminde Konu Jigsaw tekniğinin uygulanmasının öğrencilerin akademik başarı ve derse yönelik ilgileri üzerine etkilerini incelemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yaklaşımlarından ön test- son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu seçkisiz atama yapılmadan belirlenen deney ve kontrol gruplarından oluşmaktadır. Uygulama öncesinde her iki gruba da Akademik Başarı Testi (ABT) uygulanmış, deney grubuna Konu Jigsaw tekniğine dayalı öğretim süreci gerçekleştirilirken, kontrol grubunda geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri ile eğitim verilmiştir. Uygulama sonunda her iki gruba tekrar ABT uygulanarak son test puanları elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca süreç boyunca öğrencilere konu alt başlıklarına yönelik modül testlerde uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, uygulama öncesi ABT ön test puanlarında iki grup arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Ancak uygulama sonrası elde edilen ABT son test puanları ve modül test başarı puanları incelendiğinde, deney grubu lehine anlamlı fark tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, Konu jigsaw tekniğinin geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine kıyasla öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını artırmada daha etkili bir yöntem olduğunu göstermektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the application of the Subject Jigsaw technique in the teaching of the unit of Systems and Health in Our Body within the scope of the middle school Science course on the academic success and interest of the students towards the course. In the study, a quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group was used, which is one of the quantitative research approaches. The study group consists of experimental and control groups determined without random assignment.Before the application, Academic Achievement Test (ABT) was applied to both groups, while the experimental group was taught using the Subject Jigsaw technique, the control group was taught using traditional teaching methods.At the end of the application, ABT was applied to both groups again and post-test scores were obtained. In addition, module tests for subject subheadings were applied to the students throughout the process. The research results revealed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in the ABT pre-test scores before the application. However, when the ABT post-test scores and module test success scores obtained after the application were examined, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group. These findings show that the Subject Jigsaw technique is a more effective method in increasing the academic success of the students compared to traditional teaching methods.
