Özet
Bu çalışmada, Antik Yunan düşüncesinde toplumun temel dayanağı olarak öne çıkan nomos kavramı incelenmiştir. Nomosun etimolojik kökeni, anlam katmanları ve tarihsel süreçteki dönüşümleri ele alınarak; özellikle hukuk, siyaset, etik ve sosyal düzen bağlamlarındaki rolü araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada öncelikle, kavramın Antik Yunan dünyasındaki ortaya çıkışı ve gelişimi üzerine durulmuş, ardından Roma, Orta Çağ ve modern dönemlere etkileri incelenmiştir. Sokrates, Platon ve Aristoteles gibi filozofların nomos kavrayışları felsefi bir perspektifle analiz edilmiş; Carl Schmitt gibi modern düşünürlerle kavramın yeniden yorumlanış biçimi değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma boyunca, nomosun sadece bir hukuk kavramı olmadığı, aynı zamanda bir toplumun değer dünyasını ve normatif yapısını şekillendiren temel bir unsur olduğu savunulmuştur. Çalışmanın amacı, Antik Yunan'daki nomos anlayışını tarihsel ve kavramsal boyutlarıyla ortaya koyarak, günümüz hukuk ve toplumsal norm anlayışlarına katkı sağlamaktır.

This study examines the concept of nomos, which stands out as the fundamental basis of society in ancient Greek thought. The etymological origin of nomos, its layers of meaning and its transformations throughout history are examined; and its role in the contexts of law, politics, ethics and social order is investigated. First, the study focuses on the emergence and development of the concept in the ancient Greek world, and then examines its effects on the Roman, Middle Ages and modern periods. The nomos concept of philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle is analyzed from a philosophical perspective; and the way the concept has been reinterpreted by modern thinkers such as Carl Schmitt is evaluated. Throughout the study, it is argued that nomos is not only a concept of law, but also a fundamental element that shapes the value world and normative structure of a society. The aim of the study is to contribute to today's understanding of law and social norms by revealing the historical and conceptual dimensions of the nomos understanding in ancient Greece.
