Özet
ÖZET Bu araştırmada İlköğretim 6. ve 7. sınıflarda okutulan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarının öğrenci başarısına etkisi konusunda uzman, denetçi, yönetici ve öğretmen görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma betimsel niteliktedir. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 30 sorudan oluşan anket ile elde edilmiştir. Anket, mevcut ders kitaplarının özellikleri ve olması gereken ders kitaplarının özellikleri şeklinde iki boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın evrenini Ankara il merkezindeki ilköğretim okulunda görevli müdürler ile öğretmenler ve Ankara'da görevli denetçiler ile üniversitelerde görevli uzmanlardır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinde görev yapan 18 720 öğretmen, 368 okul müdürü, Ankara ilinde görev yapan 186 denetçi ile üniversitelerde görevli 35 uzman arasından random örnekleme yoluyla oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmaya katılan uzman, denetçi, yönetici ve öğretmenlerden elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde EXCEL ve SPSS programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, mevcut duruma uzmanlar ve denetçiler kısmen ve çoğunlukla, yöneticiler ve öğretmenler çoğunlukla ve bütünüyle; olması gereken duruma ise, uzmanlar ve denetçiler çoğunlukla ve bütünüyle, yöneticiler ve öğretmenler kısmen ve çoğunlukla seçeneklerinde katılmaktadırlar. Bu bulguların ışığında mevcut ders kitaplarının öğrenci başarısını etkileme düzeyinin düşük olduğu ve bu nedenle yeniden hazırlanması gerektiği söylenebilir. Bu amaçla ders kitaplarının olması gereken nitelikler bağlamında içerik, üretim, tasarım ve dil açısından yeniden gözden geçirilmesi yararlı görünmektedir.

SUMMARY In this research it is aimed to determine the experts, supervisors, administrators and teachers' point of views about the influence of the social studies textbooks that are used in the 6th and 7th grades of primary schools on student's success. The research is descriptive. The data were collected through a test which consisted of 30 questions previously prepared by the researcher. The test is comprised of two dimensions, which are the qualities of the present textbooks and the qualities of the desired textbooks. The population of the research is the primary school principals and teachers, the supervisors and experts at universities in Ankara. The sample of the research is formed among 18720 teachers, 368 school principals, 186 supervisors and 35 experts at universities in Ankara at random. EXCEL 7.0 and SPSS were used to analyse the collected data from the participant experts, supervisors, administrators and teachers. According to the research findings, the experts and the supervisors partly and generally agree with the present situation, the administrators and the teachers agree generally and strongly with the present situations; the experts and the supervisors generally and strongly agree with the desired situations, the administrators and the teachers partly and generally agree with the desired situations. In the light of these findings, it can be claimed that the present textbooks have a low effect on student success, therefore they should be revised and improved. For this purpose, it appears to be useful if content, product, design and language of the present textbooks are revised and improved.
