Özet
Bu tez/eser çalışması, Sergei Prokofiev' in iki keman için do Majör sonatının teknik ve yorum açısından incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, eserin icrasında karşılaşılan teknik ve müzikal zorlukları belirlemeyi ve bu zorlukların çözümüne yönelik yöntemleri ortaya koymayı ve aynı zamanda, bestecinin notasyondaki taleplerine sadık kalınmasını sağlayarak, icracının eserdeki detaylara ilişkin farkındalığını artırmayı amaçlamaktadır.Sergei Prokofiev, eserlerinde kendi yaşam deneyimlerini, özellikle sürgün ve savaş gibi zorlayıcı tarihsel süreçleri yansıtmıştır. Bu bağlamda, eserin yazıldığı dönemin politik, sosyal ve kişisel koşullarını anlamak, eserin duygusal ve yapısal özelliklerini daha derinlemesine kavramaya olanak tanır. Böylece, icracılar, sadece notalarda yazılı teknik gereklilikleri yerine getirmekle kalmayıp, eserin taşıdığı anlam ve ifade dünyasını da doğru şekilde yorumlayabilirler. Bu da performansın hem teknik hem de yorum açısından daha bilinçli ve etkileyici olmasını sağlar. Dolayısıyla, bestecinin yaşam öyküsü ve eserinin tarihsel bağlamı, eserin doğru icrası için vazgeçilmez bir referans noktasıdır. Bu çalışmada hem teknik hem de yorum açısından esere dair bilinçli bir yaklaşım geliştirilmesinde yardımcı olmak hedeflenmiş, gelecekteki icracılar için rehber niteliği taşıması amaçlanmıştır.

This thesis/performance study aims to examine Sergei Prokofiev's Sonata in C Major for Two Violins from technical and interpretative perspectives. The study seeks to identify the technical and musical challenges encountered in performing the work, propose methods to address these challenges, and, at the same time, ensure that performers remain faithful to the composer's notational intentions, thereby enhancing their awareness of the work's detailed nuances. The sonata's unique structure and the use of the same instrument require constant interaction and mutual listening between the performers, demanding meticulous attention to intonation, rhythmic cohesion, and tonal unity.Examining the composer's life and the period during which the work was written is of significant importance for interpretation and performance. Sergei Prokofiev, having experienced exile and war, reflected his personal and historical context in his compositions. Understanding the political, social, and personal circumstances of the work's creation allows performers to grasp its emotional and structural features more deeply. Consequently, performers can interpret not only the technical instructions written in the score but also the expressive and meaningful aspects of the piece, resulting in a more informed and compelling performance. The composer's life and the historical context of the work therefore constitute indispensable reference points for an accurate performance. This study aims to facilitate the development of a conscious approach to both technical and interpretative aspects of the sonata, serving as a guiding resource for future performers.
